2024 Chevy Trax Review: Forget What You Know

The 2024 Chevrolet Trax has undergone a significant redesign from its 2022 model, even skipping a model year in order to introduce these updates. With a bigger, sleeker look, the latest Trax embodies much of the style and technology present in its larger sibling, the Chevy Blazer. Originally launched in 2013, the Trax was known for its compact size and affordability, but the cost had been increasing as the model aged. After being discontinued for 2023, the Trax returns in 2024 as a safer, visually appealing compact SUV, transitioning from its previous sub-compact status. Despite these enhancements and the general trend of rising car prices, it surprisingly comes with a lower price tag.

Honestly, it looks fantastic for the price. Chevy hit it out of the park. They deserve for this one to sell well.

Ok.... it's a 21, 000 dollar car. Come on dude, this New Trax is worth the money, stop complaining. It's a good entry vehicle for folks on a budget. STOP it!!

I dont care for power seats, dont care about the hard plastics and no backseat arm rest. I drive usually city and highway flat surfaces? So dont care for AWD. But i do care for safety and convenience. Trax is perfect for me and price point makes sense. Good job Chevy

Just bought one for my 16 year old daughter to drive to soccer, school and work and she is in love with this car. We love it for her and the safety features are amazing! The comfort, tech, and features are great and we didn’t want her in anything too quick. We shopped around for so many used and ended up w this and have never bought new. I’m an Audi/BMW owner and this car is fab. I’ve had Acura, Honda, Toyota, Lexus and have never bought American made. We wanted something safe and to carry her through college and more and it’s absolutely perfect. Our friend owns the Chevy dealership and he said he would sell this to everyone he can and expects this to be their biggest seller to date. He did not like the previous Trax, but highly recommended this and he is the best guy with enormous integrity. The car rides smooth and comfortable! Quiet and a great ride. Don’t think twice. We have had it under a week and it’s a great choice, value, and more.

They are trying to aim this towards people who dont want to break the bank and have something to commute in. And it really does work for that. I balance commuting from my car to my bike so a car like this is perfect

I bought an Activ trim level and I absolutely love this car! For the purpose that I wanted, this car just nails it! Efficient, fun to drive, and awesome to look at as well as being extremely comfortable, all I can say is well done Chevy!

Literally everything on your wish list was not included so they could hit a price point and come under the previous gen Trax. By the time you add everything you personally want its going to make it less of a value proposition and that's its whole mission. Its a simple, basic, inexpensive car that's surprisingly good. Be happy with that.

I think he struggles to understand what an entry level car is, with all those wants.

Dude, for $26K on a 2RS what else can you ask for??? How many more options are there with similar features at the same price??? On this one you have 19 inch wheels, sunroof, wireless charger, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert, active noise cancelation, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, lane departure assistance, pre-collision assistance with automatic braking, pedestrian detection with automatic braking.... The only thing I agree was a mistake is the hard surfaces on the door panel and center console where the arms rest. This is not a sports car, you are missing the point.

In 2024 at that price that's a steal and it look good.
For what you get there's no room for complaints.

My fiancée and I just bought a 2024 Trax LT. When we first looked at it, we both went, "We don't want that f*ckin' thing" but the more we looked wt it, drove it, etc the more it grew on us. As a mechanic I was skeptical about the 1.2L turbo engine, however decided we would give it a chance. Had it a week as of writing this, and so far we love it. For the price, it gives so much, and is quite comfy.

We originally were looking st either a Rav4 or a Corolla because we wanted Toyota reliability. However the Rav4 was slightly out of budget and the Corolla was smaller than our old car, or at least felt smaller... which my fiance can barely fit inside of as is. He fits right in the Trax. It ended up being a great compromise and offered a lot for the money. Dealerships around us can't get them in stock fast enough... we were lucky to even get one. So far we love it... barely 500 miles on the dash so far.

Also the EPA rates it at 28mpg city, 32-34mpg highway.. on a flat road, doing 55/60MPH, it gets around 40-55MPG which is good for the wallet, as we do a lot of highway driving.

Do not forget that the 1.2 ecotec is highly underrated from the factory. People have dynoed it to have 170 hp and 210+ lbft of torque. I test drove one yesterday and was thoroughly impressed by the passing power.

I've had a 2RS in red for like 3 weeks now and I've already put 2k miles on it. It's a great drive and I love the way it looks. There's a sweet spot around 3.5k rpm on the 1.2L turbo that just sings.

Great review. I just bought a 24 Trax 2RS with 2 option packages which load it up and the price is just $27k? I'm not a Chey fan, usually buy Fords actually. But I test drove this and for the price there's not much that competes for the value. Heated wheel and seats, wireless connection and charging for phone/infotainment and despite the hard plastics the interior is nice. Just be warned, if your dealer is charging outrageous fees, walk away, there's another Chevy dealer not too far away that isn't . If their website says "Make an offer" well, feel free to undercut sticker price LOL

Cool car. I have a ‘23 Mirage & love it. I’d love it even if it had one wheel. To me reliability & simplicity is key. As long as it performs & it’s long lasting I really don’t care so much for all the technology. I’m grateful to have a car, period. I know people that can’t afford any.

I remember how much of a joke those commercials depicting "real people" mistaking a Chevy Malibu for a Mercedes or BMW were, but the other day I saw a black Chevy Trax and thought it was some kind of new low end Mercedes crossover at first glance from the rear. It really stands out from all the other Chevy crossovers with those proportions

I'm a chauffer for my 90 year old mom and 64 year old sister who herself can no longer drive because of medicine side affects. I have a 2004 Honda Element at the moment and I'm worried it might break down with mom inside it. My cousin purchased a Chevy Trax and she loves it. I noticed it has plenty of room interior. I'm buying a new Trax this autumn. Paying cash!
