Five guys on a stage are all thinking " Oh God have I got to play in front of Guthrie...."

You know you're good when John Petrucci plays rhythm guitar for you

Guthrie Govan [noun] - a guitarist who improvises at levels which most wish could compose.

Look at Guthrie, peeking at the others playing. I don't think he feels threatened, he just want to learn from others. Dude's got such a nice attitude.

Aside from Guthrie solo, I really liked Andy James solo. It fits in the mix perfectly.

I love how Guthrie held back for 2 & 1/2 bars before starting his solo spot to let the rhythm section establish their grove again and let the listener take a breath. Little things like that are what make me love his musicality.

Guthrie's solo is the only one that has a beginning, middle and end. He is simply the best.

Tosin is a creative genius when it comes to writing and composing music but even he admits to being bad at improvising solos. Someone like Guthrie on the other hand is notorious for his ability to do exactly that.
Either way it’s a stage full of talent, that’s for damn sure

All of these guys are world class players, cream of the crop. But I've never seen anyone handle the instrument like Guthrie. Complete and total control and unbridled sophistication.

I want everyone to observerve Manginis smile and small jump at 7:47 when he and Guthrie improvised those syncopated notes together on the spot. Absolutely fucking brilliant. They obviously found a musical connection, which is something of Guthries speciality; And, may I add, part of why the Aristocrats are so fantastic. They actually PLAY together. Speaking through their respective instruments like were they voices. Which they are.... Speaking and playing.

I will hopefully meet Guthrie again at Freak Guitar Camp, where I met him back in 2010. Truly brilliant to be in the presence of such a man. Socially shy and modest to a fault.. Come to think of it, I should really try to find videos of that somewhere on some hard drive.

I enjoyed everyone's reactions when Guthrie hits the perfectly placed tritone at 8:45

The drummer influencing Guthrie's solo at 7:40 was such a satisfying moment!

No guitarist here… but guys, as a musician you have to admit seeing those facial expression of joy and happiness from the guys watching Guthrie says it ALL… he’s the master under masters!
