There are more autistic people because getting diagnosed is easier than it used to be, it is more recognized now than a couple of decades ago

As a person with autism, I wish you didn’t say it was “scary” to have a kid with it. Edit: thanks for the stories and your opinions I appreciate it!

Have kids when you are financially and mentally stable. Think about the future, and not just having kids just for having kids

While high functioning autism as well known to German researchers in the 1900s, anglophone researchers knew very little of Hans Asperger’s works until the 90s. A lot of people couldn’t be diagnosed back then. Some would’ve been told they are just the “weird kid in school” and given no necessary accommodations. Others would be misdiagnosed with anything from schizophrenia to sociopathy, some mood disorder, etc.

Also, you have to consider that many autistic straight people might have been seen as socially awkward by the opposite sex and might not have had a chance until their thirties.

And it’s not like autism is evil.

people and google says that 1% if the world was autism but that’s simply not true, you see only 1% of people with autism have Ben diagnosed with autism so there are still ALOT of % with autism that don’t know they have it or haven’t Ben diagnosed. And my mom had he at 24 and I got autism and she had my little brother at 34 and he does also have autism, it doesn’t have anything to say if you have a baby at 36 or at 16 cause it’s in the family genes! There’s not a single person in my family that doesn’t have ether autism, ADHD or in a wheelchair

I learned a lot about autism in 6th grade. My mom was in her 30s and her significant other was in his 40s. The kids tend to get upset over most situations. One of the behaviors of autism.

As a 23 year old dad I have the energy now to support my kid rather being 38 and struggling to keep up with my kid because I’m older I definitely agree with what he says

Eh. Whether there's birth control or not doesn't matter to me because either way, I don't do sex. No sex = No chance of kids. Simple as that.
