Rust - Fix 'Disconnected: World File Mismatch' / 'Couldn't download level' | No BS Guide! 2024!

2 - Try and Join the server again (You will get the error still)
3 - Press F1 again and type copy
4 - Open a .TXT file and press CTRL + V
5 - Look for "Loading custom map" and there will be a URL next to it
6 - Copy and paste that URL into an internet browser
7 - locate your Rust "Maps" Folder (\steamapps\common\Rust\maps) and delete everything in there.
7 - Take the downloaded file and drag that into your Rust "Maps" Folder (\steamapps\common\Rust\maps)
8 - Restart Rust and you should be good!

It works, also you don't have to delete your other maps in your folder and you can have your game open while you do it. (at least I had my game open and it worked for me)

So what do I do if they link there is in active or doesn’t do anything when I put it in google it’s a very popular server I don’t understand why it won’t work

im not sure for everyone but for me the problem was that i only had 90mbs left on my hard drive and it would crash on any server not just that the map was outdated. make sure you got space on your disk :))) 2tb of games and only had 90mbs left

Edit: If there is nothing in the F1 console at the start, you need to try connecting to the server again, if you are still struggling, read the description.

This fix will work for 99% of people who follow the tutorial correctly. This error can happen for multiple reasons, but overall It's because the game cant read the map file
(Could be due to file corruption or whatever)

If this method doesn't work, your ISP may be blocking the file host. You will need to dig deeper into that yourself.

EDIT 2: Issue can also come down to not having enough space in your storage device!
