I guess I take for granted how rare it is that my parent's are still married and I was raised with a good work ethic.

Man this was really good. Probably the most thorough yet concise talk on this issue facing America.

George, your ending comments, I believe, are spot on! Trade schools needed as well as colleges.

What about accountability for bailing out the banks and financial institutions?

Amen George as a 32 year old and I’ve been paying my rent and my own bills as I was 22 all my friends that are still living at home or at their in-laws had very bad parenting the ones that had good parenting have been having jobs and stacking up money and paying their own bills at least from what I’m noticing parenting is huge

Mr. George, I mostly agree with you. Where I disagree is that employers use a degree as a gate keeper tool. Very often, I have seen people get hired over another person strictly based on having a degree and are incompetent.

I appreciate how well you teach these concepts, but even more than that, how you succinctly bring in common sense perspectives that uphold true moral values!

Pay back what you take---what a radical concept....
Agree on everything.

All I ask is for consistency when it comes to "bailouts". EVERYONE in corporate America is getting socialism in 2020 (Trillionns), but as soon as people need help everyone turns into a capitalist. Theeres nothing wrong with fiscal responsibility, but I need this same energy when corporations and businesses get bailed ask for money.

"College is a self selection process" - wow. Never thought of it that way but that's spot on.

George, I learned so much from your videos. For many young people going to college has become a method of delaying adulthood and that's it. They're graduating with worthless degrees that are easy to obtain.

Forgiving their college debt is a continuation of the avoidance of being an adult.

I will argue that labor shortages can be attributed to young people avoiding adulthood as well. God forbid you make a commitment to get up every morning and work 8 hours.

When my son reads this post he will know I'm talking about him.

Great video! I totally agree that good parenting should be the focus and not more people going to college. Those who need to learn will want to go to college, and those who want to work will go to work.

So by forgiving the student loans, you would teach the younger generation that responsibility doesn't matter! And at the same time, you will be punishing a lot of responsible people who were able to manage their money well.

When Bernie was in college schools didnt shove college down the throat like they did to kids in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Bernies generation didnt need to go to college, most went out and were hired right into a manufacturing job, college was only for certain professions. That wasnt the case when I entered the workforce. No college degree meant dead end jobs with no advancement. That is what drove people to go to college and demand drove up the costs as well as government funding cuts to state universities.

Since my mortgage is back by the FHA and Fannie, I want the government to pay it off, just like the student loans.
