Better to have run into a corner case now than to discover it later. A little redesign or change in procedures and the future becomes that much more safe.

So basically SpaceX is doing what SpaceX does blowing stuff up just to see what happens😂

It didn't blow up, it was clearly described as a rapid unscheduled disassembly.

I really like these shorts Felix. I've been a subscriber on your channel for some time.👍

The simplest answer typically is the best one.
Before launch, the talking heads mentioned they would NOT be retrieving the booster, nor the capsule. They also showed a graphic showing the approximate course the ship would take and where it would land.

That said, there are many competitors out there who might like to see SpaceX's designs. To prevent anyone from retrieving either part and cloning SpaceX's intellectual property they scheduled that unscheduled rapid disassembly.

They got all the data needed from the flight. Once that point was reached, the ship and booster were expendable.

Amazed at the reports and detailed data provided by the Japanese Aerospace Agency after the recent SLIM lander mission. SpaceX just gives us a few comments from their senior marketing exec.

Your explanations are the best! Thanks.

A simulated payload gave a non simulated explosion. Ouch!

In resume, it was too easy to SpaceX that they need to do a extra test witch, unfortunately, ended up with the vehicle FTS activation and RUD.

Yeah no, I’ll pass on free tickets on that thing ! 🙄🤦🏽‍♂️

This is why the stock took a dive last week 😮

Also I'd like to see if there is independent verification of the cause for the explosion.

I've heard this before, but I still don't understand. If the LOX was simulating a payload, why jettison it so early? You wouldn't deploy a payload at this phase of flight, so why shift the CoM so much, plus these risks externally?

Trying to recreate the Apollo capsule fire? Sounds like it.

Bullocks. The lox-dump was a catalyst to an already bad situation. There were already some leaks prior to the dump. Why would they "simulate" a payloaddelivery while not having even reached apogee

They could've used water or sand... But they chose liquid oxygen? This only creates more questions.

I always wonder how they protect the ship from all the heat. It would seem the rocket would burn up as more heat is created. If not, then there would be a limit on how fast a rocket can be boosted from the fuel. Either way, it’s would suggest rockets with this type of propulsion worm ever work.
