I'm new to Chromebook and ran into this issue.Tried to download an android app for the first time and the download was stuck on *Pending...* indefinitely. This sent me down a rabbit hole of Chromebook android app compatibility videos, of which there are many.
Turns out, my default settings didn't allow app downloads unless I was plugged in and charging. Hope this helps someone.

I have play store installed on my chromebook but as soon as i select any app to be downloaded, it installs itself on my mobile phone which has the same google account and i never have the option "open" app after installed on my chromebook :( i wonder is it because it isn't compatible or am i doing something wrong?
