BEST Cordless Framing Nailer | Paslode XP

The BEST Cordless Framing Nailer is still the Paslode XP! While I love my Milwaukee M18 Fuel Framing Nailer (11.2 lbs with the included XC 5.0 battery) , it is exactly 4 lbs heavier than the Paslode (7.2 lbs). When you’re using it overhead or clipping it to your belt for hours, it makes a significant difference.

Let me know what you think or what I left out! Keep in mind I really like my Milwaukee M18 Fuel Framing Nailer too.

I have the same paslode 30° framer that I bought in 2004 and I still use. It it's a beast of a nail gun, it drives the nails deeper than any electric nailer I've ever seen.

We've been using them in Scotland for 30 years, while Americans were still dragging hoses around roofs (and still do)

It’s the weight that made me go with the Paslode vs the Milwaukee. It’s amazing how lower weight tools help me be more productive especially towards the end of the day.

I own 3 Paslodes. 2 framing and 1 Brad nailer. If your looking for speed and reliability it's the way to go. I own a home repair company and use them heavily, dropped them off ladders and never had a malfuntion or jam. Keep them oiled and clean the filter and they will last forever.

Excellent video. Bought a Paslode XP framing nailer today, and your vid was a great watch! I bought it for its power and durability, but the weight was really important for me. I'm working on a large, coffered ceiling, and working above my head is going to get old real quick. None of those 10/11 lb framing nailers for me. The Paslode fit the bill and the weight of the tool was a key factor in my purchase.

Agree 100% about the weight. 4lb difference is huge by the end of the day/week/job/year/lifetime. Especially if held over your head for any amount of time.

Im all for modifying your tools, too. Dont like the heavy spring tension on the belt hanger hook? Take the spring out, or replace with a lighter one. 'Foot' serrations slip on angled shots, file/bend those suckers till they stick. You bought the tool, you have to use it. If you can improve some aspect of it without making it dangerous, i say go for it. Mechanics often have to make/modify tools, i don't see why builders can't do the same. Just don't give someone else a saw you've pryed the safety off of. Or at least, don't let osha see it...

I just bought this gun today for $175. Haven't used it yet. Thanks so much for the video. I'm excited to try it out.

I just got the older version of this and a trim nailer given to me because they “didn’t work” a good cleaning and new gas and the framer works awesome, the trim nailer is up and running too, I was planning on getting the milwaukee ones but that probable won’t happen now unless the paslodes die for good 😂 I love red but 5 pounds lighter is a big difference at the end of the day

cordless not gas no waste no Emissions and no headaches from the Exhaust But I have owned the Milwaukee's 6 of them for my crew and dumped them to many Failures and warranty issues Water damage from rain yet the 8 Metabo HtP's never had any issues even in -30 temps rain and snow and in LVL HVL and Lams always sunk the nail and they fit in to 16 inch on center and now they have teh extended magazine option ....I love them yes the Pass loads and the old Hitachi Gas nailers where Great and light compact but the Gas and the Head aches caused from the GAS Exhaust I dont miss that ... but all and all 5 years with Metabo htp no issues no failures no jams or miss fires I am impressed with them

Paslode is still the most widely used gun in NZ, But in saying that to keep cost down on buying fuelcells, Take the time to use a compressor and air gun if doing lots of framing and subfloor work etc ...

I had the Milwaukee 30 degree nailer it’s not half the nailer the Paslode is. When fully load and ready to use the Milwaukee weighs a good 5 pounds heavier than the Paslode. Plus the Milwaukee has a over heating problem which was a big inconvenience, I have not yet had that problem with the Paslode.

I’m framing the inside of a barn to turn it into a residence. I think I’m buying this!

Wow thank you
I do light framing and blocking so I think I’ll put up with the gas cartridges. How many nails roughly per gas cartridge, 1000? Also are the nails needed proprietary? Thanks so much!
