I have the DeWalt 21-degree cordless. For what it is not it makes up for and what it is. Personally speaking I love the fact that I don't have to lug an compressor around and deal with a hose for small jobs. The nailer is at times inconsistent. The magazine capacity is an issue. You can't even fit two strips of collated nails in it. I have to brake a strip in half to fully load the magazine. The rafter hook is completely useless. The Dewalt 15 and 18 gauge nailers is are beasts though. No real complaints owning them. The wind up noise is a little annoying at first, but I don't even notice it anymore now. Honestly it's better than hearing a compressor run all day.

Well I hate to admit it, but I have dropped the Milwaukee framer from 10’ up, not only once but twice. To hear that big guy hit the cement I thought no way it functions. Yet it works great still. Very impressed. I use a lanyard now lol

I started using dewalt tools about 12 years ago. I had all 18v line of tools now I have almos all the 20v. I have the 21° framing, 18 and 16 gauge. I love them. It gets the job done and not overpriced. I payed $200 for the framing and $100 for the finishing nailers (tool only) ($25 for a 2ah battery, $40 for 4ah) brand new from a reseller (they buy tools by the pallets and sell them cheap)

I am not a carpenter by trade. I just bought a framing nailer because I always wanted one. I used to rent them from Home Depot but every time I thought I would just buy one, the price scared me away. But, I just bought the Milwaukee 30 degree based on recommendations from other tool guys about Milwaukee quality without going through too many reviews. The main complaint was the weight and I agree but you get use to it. I'm super happy with it even though I will probably only ever use it on fence repair. They are a great tool for anyone to have and I know someone will need it and I will loan it to them. I will probably build something in the future and will be glad I have it. The batteries are super good and seem to last a long time and charge very quickly. I love the fact that it has just a short noise when activated. I think the Dewalt would get to me after a while of listening to the revving.

I've only used a old passload so far, but both of these guns seem to be pretty capable, bump stop firing Is a luxurious thing and if you were in an awkward position you don't have to push in for a second to fire and potentially miss. Also with noise, you're likely to use earmuffs anyway regardless of what framing gun you use. I'm going to look up what these guns use for mechanisms.

I have 2 of the dewalts. Just because all my other tools are dewalt. So it doesn't make since to change. Battery life is good and the performance is great. Only issue is you will definitely have to change the return springs after a long time of extremely hard use. Which is very easy to do and only costs like $20. I've had them a few years and that's been the only issue.

I bought the Dewalt when it first came out because it was a 21 degree and those nails were cheaper and easier to find than 30 degree, 6 months later I bought another one. I have built several homes and a bunch of remodels with these nailers and they work great. It took a little time to get used to the timing of the "wind up" but its not a big deal. I have had problems with the return spring breaking, cheap and easy repair, but now the driver has broken on one and the other driver is worn so much it doesn't engage with the wheel (if you have seen the inside you know what I'm talking about). Now the driver is not available so I may be stuck with a bucket of parts.
One issue I think needs to be addressed is the hook, it could be better. I don't trust it hanging in the rafters anymore after watching it drop to the floor. Another thing is I wished it could drive 3-1/2" nails.

Thanks for video, i have been working with dewalt, when its brand new it shoots well, after couple months of use it got weaker and now it can only work as plywood nailer for short nails only, no more framing nailer.
It happened like this on the second gun already, so im pretty sure thats how they are. They get tired pretty soon.
Ill definitely have to try milwauke with hope that it will keep shooting with same power for much longer time than dewalt.

Metabo does 99% of what I need it to do... My coworker has the Dewalt and he always picks up my Metabo... The Dewalt flywheel action drives me crazy and frequent jams. I really wanted it to work well (Dewalt) because that's the platform I am invested in everywhere else. Love my Metabo.

Lol FINALLY! How long ago did I ask you about these haha. Love the review I’m very surprised how close you ranked them and that’s definitely more accurate. I don’t see a clear choice other than maybe what platform you’re on. It comes down to if you have to have certain unique features like extended mags or sinking the nails fully 100% of the time

Bought 2 Dewalts . Worked awesome at first, but after framing our 5th house they were junk … and yes I know u have to get the spring kits and replace them and we did it a few times .. but they still were junk in my books . They would be good if your just a handyman but if you’re a framer stick to your air framer and hoses

I have the dewalt and it’s a good gun.. I’ve never used the Milwaukee but my coworker has the hitachi (metabo) and that thing is amazing.. I’ll pick it up over mine every single time if they’re both out.

I have the millwaukee and find that the weight is something you get use to. It has really good punch. Which is great for hard wood. Great video

Awesome review! I use both at work and agree, the dewalt gets my vote because its lighter, quieter when firing, and better balanced. The ramp up isnt as annoying as it would seem. Both are amazing tools
