Amazon costs way more in fees, is stricter in policies and the return rate is astronomical.. clearly NOT a alternative for most ebay sellers

I quit Amazon 15 years ago. Never will go back and in fact do not buy from Amazon. I don’t sell clothes, modern toys, or other market flooded categories. To many experts giving advice to new sellers about these pallet buying. People thinking they can get rich quick. I can’t tell you in the last six years how many calls I have gotten to come buy out peoples stock. Who bought pallets of returns etc who thought they would get rich quick. But never buy any of it. I have always been antique dealer

On my personal webstore, I have got to make time to learn how to drive more traffic or find a legitimately good ecommerce marketing company. I would LOVE to make as many sales on my webstore as I do on any platform. The 3rd party platforms have gotten extremely greedy and could care less about the sellers...all while charging ridiculous fees, almost no support and fostering scammers in alarmingly growing multitudes (I honestly believe a lot of Amz employees are in on the scams/thieving too)!

I am ready to quit ebay. I sell rare books and now they list other dealers in my listing and show their listings. I have been on ebay for 14 years and have 100% positive feedback. Now my listings in my store show the picture and the filled in items, publisher and so on, then right below that they show other dealers like items. The you must scroll way down to know about my store. Why, when I am paying for the listing should other listings be on that

I tried Amz FBA for a while. Just know it is likely just a matter of time before they hold your inventory hostage for some unfound claim or simply destroy it...oh and then suddenly they are on the same listings selling the items directly, when you are the private label brand owner. So how are they suddenly selling your branded items...thieving maybe??? It is truly a good place to make more money than on some other platforms. Just go into it with your eyes open and read about what other sellers are currently going through to help assist you.

Besides the high fees for Amazon, sellers don’t receive the same level of support regarding negative feedback, scumbag buyers, etc…

I appreciate your video, but let's not kid ourselves, there are some negatives to a few places you mentioned. Bonanza does no marketing at all, in fact they would much rather you do social media advertising on your own and this does not work for people who do not use social media.

Facebook marketplace is only good for flipping furniture locally and sourcing. After that, it's full of scammers.

Amazon FBA favors big sellers and is not friendly to small sellers. I guess the best thing about them is that they take care of all returns and other customer problems.

I have a small business where I make my own goods and sell on both eBay and Amazon. My sales with Amazon is roughly twice but I enjoy getting the sales through eBay more. Amazon customers can be demanding and returns are more common. Seller support with Amazon huh? eBay has far greater seller support and they have a program for international shipping which the others don't. I have gotten several orders through eBay through International shipping and all I do is ship to eBay’s shipping center and not have to worry about International rates and tariffs. Listing on eBay is easier than Amazon. Getting paid is another big deal, never once had any problems with eBay and you have options. Amazon every two weeks and there has been times when that was skipped be cause of some glitch.

Amazon FBA disadvantages smaller sellers who keep their own inventory and ship it themselves. Because of free shipping…

I think Amazon is worse than eBay. It’s extremely competitive. I’ve sold on both platforms and prefer eBay

I don’t want to start a giant business with a bunch of inventory so that’s why I don’t like Shopify or Amazon I’m just trying to sell some things I have at my house are some antiques some really cool items in small amounts make some side hustle… I guess I’m still leaning towards Poshmark being the best number one 2023. Also they discount shipping for people

Thank you very much for this video. I believe that it was the most informative video (on any subject) that I have seen on the internet. This video could be the foundation of a full blown course or in person seminar for us old folks. Continued luck going forward.

eBay has gotten horrible. Their fees are crazy and I’ve had about five or six items listed for a few weeks and only got one or two views on a few items and most of them had no views at all so eBay is burying my listings and apparently this is happening to a lot of people, so I’m done with eBay.

Here in California, when tou become visible with EBAY selling anything....you immediately get the sales tax forms. Then forms from the County Assessor....taxing any invintory, Then the income tax forms from the state, also the forms from the IRS. On most stuff, its cheaper to toss it in the dumpster. Also thise hours boxing, double boxing, then stating in line at the post office or UPS. Think the dumpster is Feed me, Feed me ! "
