Finally, a video that explained what offset is to me, and in a way I processed it. Thanks for the great video.

Konig Wheels, and especially Scott are amazing! I had a hell of a time deciding wheel setups, and Scott guided me through choosing the right size that would clear my BBK retrofit on my 2017 Civic Si sedan

Only video explaining this that I understood. Well done. Lower offset number and the wheel sticks out further. Thank you.

Getting the Overstreers (if any available) for my 2018 hyundai elantra soon. 17x8 ET45. I wanted to ones with ET35 but none was available plus I fear it may stick out the fender. OEM 16" wheels are ET50 16x6.5.

Hopefully the ET45 makes it kinda sit closer to the fender.

Which rim has more lip in the front of the rim
a 17x8.5 30 or a 17x8.5 20?

I understand how to mount the wheel onto the car and it has a Center Bore (cb). What is confusing to me is the side that mounts is something like ET50 or 50mm would make the wheel protrude/stick out and that a lower number such as ET 42 or 42mm which is smaller would take the wheel more inside. However, this is not the situation. 50 mm is greater than 42mm. Example: a Softball is twice the size of a Hardball. If I stick a hard ball between the CB and the inner side of the wheel it should protrude. Using a Hardball then the wheel side moves inbound because the hardball is smaller. Somehow Bigger offset means it may rub or hit the Strut and Smaller means it may protrude too far and rub your fender or make your car look really weird. However, I almost rather have my wheel protrude a little so if you accidentally hit the curb that the wheels and tires get scratched and not the body of the car. Everything about wheels (rims) and tire size makes sense, just not backspacing and offset. Diagrams and calculators and videos have not helped.

I can't tell you how many times I have seen offset explained the other way around. (Positive offset sticks out towards street, while the more Negative offset sits in towards suspension components).

So I’m trying to find a wide lipped wheel. I have a 235/40/18 on a 18x8 wheel. I’m looking at a xxr 18x9.5 with a +20 or +30 offset. I’m trying to get the double step deep dish wheel and want the wider dish lip I can get. So what offset would be better to get that little tiny poke but with the big deep dish lip that’s double stepped. I want a deep dish wheel so is the higher offset number going to give me a deeper dish or is it the lower offset number that had the deeper dish?

Positive offset or negative? because higher and lower is not helping me unfortunately when i see -38 and +38 etc
