Ready to order a new wheels but feeling a little overwhelmed? Lets understand what all those wheel spec numbers really mean.

If you want lots of stance for your diesel truck or the right clearance for your car or Jeep this video will help simplify things.

There is no easier way to understand offset than looking at a huge set of wheels with lots of negative offset.

I watched a video explaining this in over 10 minutes. I didn't retain much. You explained this so much better!

I am a -3.5 guy. This is the best video I have seen about wheels. I wish this was available two years ago when I was wheel shopping. This video is easy to understand and makes sense. When I was researching wheels for my JLUR, there was nothing that was this easy to understand and the people at tire stores were not good at explaining what I needed. This should be a must watch for anyone looking to purchase new wheels that want to make an informed intelligent decision.

what I want to see explained is, if I'm looking at a 20x9 0mm offset, how do you know whether that wheel and subsequent tire combination (275/60R20) would work on your particular vehicle. If you are going from a stock wheel with 6" of backspace (+45 mm offset on a 18x7.5 wheel - 255/70R18 tire), is there any danger in rubbing by going to a 9" wheel and a bigger tire that is pushing the wheel and tire away from the components? I don't think there is, but at the same time I have read that it's not always the case that it wouldn't cause rubbing issues.

You left out a huge item which is the scrub radius, scrub radius is tied directly to offset, it can affect the vehicles handling in a positive or a negative way depending on the offset of the wheel. That big 22 x 14 wheel will not fit any vehicle without major lift being done to it. I just put new rims and tires on my 2023 Tacoma replacing the factory 16 in steel rims with 17 inch aluminum rims and one of my major considerations are maintaining the factory scrub radius.

Did I hear correctly? The two strut assemblies need to be swapped from one side to the other? What is the reason for this?

Does a wheel spacer push the vehicle away from the wheel if there is a positive offset?

Good tutorial. I have a 2009 Challenger R/T with OEM 20×8 rims with 24 offset. I wanted to replace them with 20×9 rims with 25.5 offset. Would it cause problems, or would spacers do the trick?
