Thank you for your help bro, I've been looking for a explanation on how the oil should be properly checked on our cars. I recently did my water pump and gallery gaskets on my 2007 g35 with the (VQ35HR). Alot of oil came out during the job and now I have a video for reference. couldn't really find a definitive answer online, so I really appreciate the effort/explanation you put into this video. My G is currently at 231, 000 miles so I like making sure everything is correct haha.

I got the z1 aluminum oil cap and found it to solve the issue of the cap getting stuck since its heavier

As dark as that oil was on the dipstick, I'd suggest an oil change (especially if you are down that much oil) versus adding oil to the current dirty oil. My '04 has 123k and the oil is always clean on the stick. Also, great tip about the oil cap on the hood latch. Thanks for the video.

I just do it first thing in the morning, keep the oil can in a plastic leaf bag since I dont trust it. Probably check it once a week but I'm at 194k on my VQ37 and heard to many stories of engine giving out from being lower than the half way mark. Also I check coolant at the same time, swear my coolant system is cursed since its the only thing in the engine bay thats given me problems, even ripped a air intake right before the manifold and it never gave me a engine light after over a month of it.

Sadly my z rattles, it doesn’t burn oil. But i think it has something to do with my timing chain. It all started after i did the first oil change when i bought it.

What’s the cause of the oil going low every time on these cuz

I keep leaking oil but mainly when it sits. Oil cooler seal, and valve cover gasket were just replaced. So can't be that. Any other possibility, comes out alot within a few hours and seems to be coming from the back of the engine. Help.

any tips if the yellow top broke off and the dip stick is stuck and cant pull it out but like a inch it feels like sth is holding it in.... just got my Z and thats the ONLY issue i have found🥲 they want 3k to drop everything and take it out...

What is up with the warning that you shouldn't pull the dipstick while adding oil? Does that mean you have to put the oil cap on before you check the dipstick?

Checking the oil in the de models is a pain in the ass the dip stick design/location/shape is absolutely vial 😂
