How to Set Up Parental Controls on iPhone or iPad

Показать описание
To set up parental control on iPhone and iPad, open the Settings app.

Select screen time in the settings menu. Here, you can set downtime. Downtime allows you to block certain apps and only give access to apps you choose on an iPhone or iPad.

For downtime, you can set the same time each day or set a custom schedule.

Now you have to choose the apps that will be available on downtime.
Click always allowed.
Here, you can choose contacts and apps to be allowed during downtime.

Screen time also allows for setting app limits. This will limit the time allowed on each app.
You can choose entire categories or individual apps for this category.

The last option is content and privacy restrictions.

Make sure to set a screentime passcode, to make sure these settings don't get changed without your permission.

This is a great video. Little sister just became old enough to start trusting with a phone however you just don’t give a young curious child a phone. You have to lead them in the right direction to use it. This was very informative and very helpful. Thank you

When they open up apps that have been limited it just says ignore limit and they can play it? How do I get rid of the ignore button?

Thank you for posting this video. One note that I found and echo's many comments is "should I be doing this as a parent on my phone, family organizer (and parent) on my phone, or doing this on my childs phone". Neither Apple or your video say explicitly to use PARENT PHONE, ORGANIZER PHONE OR CHILDS PHONE when completing the instructions outlined on the video. It is very confusing without this additional info. Same for apple instructions on setting up controls. They overlook the first step, which should be to identify which phone to use.

Going to try to talk my sister into using these for my nieces iPhones. One is on Tiktok for 10 hours a day and the other is on Minecraft even longer. Both of them with less than stellar performance in school. Every parent should be aware of these features and put them to use. They’ll hate it for a while but eventually they’ll get used to not being phone zombies.

Useful video. However, I found that downtime has an option called ignore downtime for today which does not require the password. This means kids can stay on at will. Am I missing something?

Parent’s make sure to select “block at downtime” otherwise they can bypass downtime. This is a great video but he missed that step for whatever reason.

Thanks a lot man. Very important not to let kids aimlessly wonder on devices. Found out the hard way with my girl but she’s just a child and doesn’t understand the unhealthy thing about there. Thanks again 🙏 ❤️

This video is great for understanding but most kids will try to open the app and be granted access by disabling limit for 1 min, 15mins or ALL DAY limit which is ridiculess. My Son can just simply disable the apps 'Downtime' with 2 clicks. Is there a way to ensure downtime is ACTUALLY DOWNTIME?! TIA

Dude! You just saved my butt. I need to let my partner use my phone for a gig job but I did not want to leave my other apps open lol. So your video came in clutch.

Our lives are in our cell phones.

Thank you!
