I love this album! I love how diverse it is, especially with the GOD trilogy. The highlight for me is still Cosmic. It's slowly becoming one of my favorite Avenged Sevenfold songs period, not just off of this album

Love this album. Got some Mr Bungle California vibes but also very much still A7X to their core. Theyve included piano since 7th Trumpet debut but they finally fulfilled their potential in using piano as a whole album.

I absolutely love the album, but seeing them play it live and seeing the crowds reactions makes it more special. It’s unreal.

I was not expecting to put this album in my Album of the year playlist after hearing the first single, but darn, the album has grown crazy for me. I completely love it now.

I've had the album on loop since last week. What a masterpiece! 😁

When they came out with their self-titled album, they had this DVD with the behind the scenes. M. Shadows mentions on their track Gunslinger (and I‘m paraphrasing), „When they reach the heavy part, I want people to feel the hairs on their arms stand“. This was the feeling for Life is but a Dream, the entirety of the album. It‘s not an album I will hear and „jam to“ for every individual track, but it‘s an album I want to hear, start to finish.

As you said, I can see the love/hate towards it, but I have never felt such a rush of emotions listening to a „metal“ album. Prog album. It was like watching an orchestra. These weren‘t songs, but movements in a symphony. I told my best friend, „you‘re either gonna hate it or love it, but of you feel any extreme of the other, A7X did their job on this album“

It's actually G O D. Those 3 tracks are meant as a one piece.

Cosmic definitely deserves a song of the year nomination.

I've been a fan of the band since City of Evil. I love this album. I feel like the people who don't like this album are the kind of people who can't sit and listen to the album front to back, or just listen on shuffle. Just listening to one random song at a time, it doesn't sound great, but as a whole, every song plays its part very well. There are a couple songs I feel can be picked out as its own separate entity.
Overall it was a great and fun album, and these guys know how to make music that doesn't just have one sound, and aren't afraid to experiment.

Love everything Avenged Sevenfold has put out (save for half of HTTK) and I love this new direction. The last 2 albums are a journey through life's deeper questions and both very musically intense. BTW G is the first part of the (O) (D) collection at the end of the album

I absolutely love "we love you." The avant garde is such a nice direction for the band.

Been on this ride since Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. They have evolved, changed and grown ... they have never disappointed. LIBAD is masterful.

A7X have never really clicked for me, until this album. It's phenomenal.

G, Ordinary, and Death are all meant to tie together! G is coming from “God” Himself and speaking about creating mankind, Ordinary is from the perspective of a robot or AI (hence singing about wanting a soul) and Death is self explanatory. Super cool how they tied those together and told a story.

I find it funny a lot of people disliking the production, it's my favourite part, it's been a long time since I've listened to an album by a big band that sounded so raw or without commercial music type production, samples were used only for artistic expression instead of "fixing" stuff, same with pitch correction, I think more metal and rock bands should approach this type of production, it's good musicians giving their best in the recording and not adding or fixing a bunch of stuff later.

Their best album. Doesn’t have the best songs but as a whole, it’s the best ALBUM. The ENTIRE album is one big story and it’s beautiful

8. G
9. (O)rdinary
10. (D)eath
= GOD

I absolutely love the first 6 songs, Mattel and Cosmic are some of my favorites theyve ever made, Easier and the god trilogy just isnt my thing at all but ending the album with a 4 minute piano balad is beautiful and perfect

Life is But a Dream is now my second favorite A7X album, just behind City of Evil. Really like how "random" this new album is.
