When I was a carnist I had anemia, went ethical vegan and POOF, no more anemia.
Interesting to note, every anemic I know eats a lot of meat

Another big one is not eating certain foods with tannins and caffeine, as these can impeed iron absorbtion.
Drinking Tea and coffee with a meal containing iron has been shown to reduce the amount absorbed.

I tracked my food intake for a year and found I never had any issue getting my daily iron requirements meet. Like one green salad is loaded.

Vitamin c is a small part of the riches of fruits, and the heat destroys the vitamin c along with the antioxidants, hydration, and just makes the whole structure unstable for digestion and assimilation. Bell peppers is prime example, when eaten raw its like a refreshing cucumber with a small sweetness to it. But after cooking its just dead. Taste changes and some may like it.

Lentils are the main source of iron in my diet. I never had problems with iron levels in my blood.

My iron was always low when I was eating meat. Now it’s the highest it’s ever been and I’ve had no problems - my family who eat meat on the other hand…

I know someone that was diagnosed with haematomachrosis. Her iron level went through the roof mainly because she consumed a lot of alcohol. She limited her food intake but was not vegan. It was a dark day when her doctor advised her to cut down her drinking by ninety per cent.
It would be interesting to know if a small amount of alcohol would boost iron intake in vegans.

Any extra strategies for women in late 30s ?? even if I would eat meat iron is a challenge but it’s imperative to come up with a solution. Vit C combining already. tried high dose and lose dose supps but you can’t live on high dose everyday. So living off iron infusions every 9months :( :(
