I always thought highly of Mike Tyson’s jab. He didn’t use it a whole lot but when he did it shot straight out like a piston, supported by his posture, forward movement and airtight guard

He does have the best jab. It seems like it was even faster a few years ago. Years ago his jab looked like it was a cobra striking or something, from being still to striking so fast.

Floyd mayweather is about as advanced and polished as anyone can get in any field, in my opinion. We´re all priviliged to witness his greatness in the ring

Won't find to many throughout history with a better jab than that. The snap is amazing

That jab + left hook was so fast ... Even the camera barely cud catch it ... His punches were faster than Jarvis reaction time ....

I think he’s so limber just from staying very active throughout his life and still doing so. You age a lot better that way

Floyd’s taking PED’s now that he’s retired. TRT at least. The man’s a competitor at heart. Last few exhibition fights you can see he’s more willing to push people around.

He doesn’t drink or do drugs, eats right, limber af, True disciplined beast mastery.

Old people walking around all stuff is mostly calcification/stored memories.

Ever since i saw a boxing tutorial teaching how invisible a jab can be if you simply throw it straightforward (like a piston) its d done wonders.. the idea is that the opponents eye has a harder time gauging distance of an object [fist] using this method.. ive punched flies out of the air doing this

That’s what happens when you constantly train. Tons of different speed drills to get that hand and those twitch muscle fibers to explode.

Very important that he has no hitches in his kinetic chain . It allows the punch to land almost in the same frame that it can be seen thrown. It's over before it starts. Such fluidity and comfort . That's experience right there. The power is great and it doesn't have to be because you can combo anything from there. It just so happens the more inexperienced fighter presents no threat while the jab is being used . No need to over extend. The king of that philosophy . If you looked at his career record and weight class it's probably not insanely surprising that his jab is top tier.

Some prison boxing guys advised 'snapping a rag', so, take a handkerchief and over and over, snap it and make it come back to rest on the shoulder. Do for rounds, pop, pop, pop....

I always thought Ike Quartey had the slickest jab, it was like a machine

He does indeed have a very impressive jab. That Jab left hook was a work of art.

At Floyds level, he stopped setting up shots years ago. He reads the body and reacts accordingly. Its automatic. Can he hit me from tjis angle, or that angle? With his legs in this position and from that distance? He knows the answers and just fills in tje gap like when you memorize the times table as a child.

The hard part comes when someone else knows the times table as well.

He holds his left elbow in tight as not to telegraph the jab. It's so great to see.

An all time jab and an all time check left hook all in one old, retired fighter. Lol.

He using a ghost jab nearly impossible to see because there no wasted movement but it just straight so the opponent has to have a offsetting rhythm to dodge them
