This might take inspiration from the 2010 movie, The Vanishing on 7th Street. The sun stays in the sky for only a few minutes, and the night is dark and starless. Those outside of the light vanish, leaving only the clothes on their backs behind. The only way to survive is to stay in a lit place or room.
