I had the opportunity to meet Kobe Bryant a year before he died. It was at a Lakers game, and I was taking my nephew to the bathroom. I ran into Kobe, and he was so sweet and gentle with my young nephew. He asked if he could help us find anything, since it was our first time at a Lakers home game. He gave us directions to the bathroom, and the kindness in his voice made me realize why people loved him, not just as an athlete, but as a person
