2020 cars were the fastes over one lap for sure, but over a race distance they are actually in many cases a lot slower than the 2004 v10 cars. I put 2020 and 2004 bahrain gp side by side at some point for fun, hamilton in the 2020 mercedes would have been lapped by schumacher in his 2004 ferrari.

FR, the cost cap really ruined the whole thing, now the teams cant maximise the cars in the same way as they could then

Although the cars were fast these regulations produced very boring racing where overtaking was extremely difficult and it was nearly impossible to run within 2 seconds of the car ahead without a massive increase in tyre deg.

We should be happy that we have more interesting regs that allow more overtaking than mindlessly praising a certain year of cars for being slightly faster than today.
