For part a, if we take moments about R, how are we supposed to know if the rod tilts when the boy is to the left of the pivot or right?

17:03, isn’t it supposed to be 2.5mg not 3mg, because you already took 0.5 and multiplied it by 30 which is the second distance from after 2.5, which I believe belongs as a coefficient to the previous force, MgN

if the boy starts walking, why did we assume that after crossing r the rod tilts? since the portion rq is only 2.5g in weight and pr is 70g in weight and heavier, should it not tilt before the boy reaches r?
