Shouldn't we write our answers as decimals? When should I write as a fraction and when as a decimal? Mark schemes sometimes accept fractions and sometimes don't.

i have a question in 1b i did 3m(6u/5 -4u) i got negative 42/5 why is it positive 42/5 not negative how am i suppose to know and change the signs i don't see why should i put a positive sign between 6u/5 +4u ? can you please answer urgently.thank you inadvance
