Miele, YES, YES, YES!

My Miele washer was very expensive, also my Miele dryer, a magnificent investment, cook top, vacuum, all first class.

Ended up moving overseas, our Miele washer (29 years old) went to a friend, ZERO service calls, still going strong, same for the dryer, SUPERB engineering but worth every cent!

Living in Thailand now, sadly, Miele is not available, except for the dishwasher we brought with us, 19 years old, NO FAULTS!

Amazing when you consider the Samsung washers we have "endured", in rental properties, you would be lucky to get 4 to 5 years from these "loads of rubbish", then they are "beyond economical repair".

Enough said, stick with QUALITY - that is Miele!

I found this after purchasing Miele washer and dryer stackable units. I find that the washer is very quiet except for the buzzer which I have turned off. Since it is stackable and in its own little cubby I don't lean on it and shut it off accidentally but I know exactly what you mean, I have a range that has a front control panel and am forever turning it on by reaching over it. Both appliances have timed and pre-programmed options. I've tried them all and while I use some more than others they all work well. Overall, I am very pleased with both appliances, I would recommend either and would purchase them again.

Our family has the same Washer for 6 years i guess, and it's actually quiet. And i also like the feature that after 10 minutes the screen goes black for energy saving. 9/10

I've had my W3831 WPS for more than 17 years and it has not missed a beat. Would not have anything else.

Canadian/American top load washers have very short cycles because the agitator is so harsh on clothes and they are not very good at stain removal. The cycle times on the longer cycles are only a guide based on a full drum and will reduce accordingly. But there are sensors that will reduce the time based on the wash load. Also there is a short option that will reduce the time for each cycle. As for the anti-crease at the end of cycle, it uses little to no electricity but as you've said it can be turned off. Washing machines use almost all of their electricity heating the water for the main wash.

Try holding the start button for 3 seconds, it may lock the controls and prevent accidental switching off.

The minimum iron cycle may be the sweet spot that you are looking for for the wash duration however, if you are running smaller loads, the machine will calculate this and take it in to account. You may also have a 'short' option which will reduce the wash time (which varies depending on the program selected).

I went from a Miele W487 which had incredibly fast wash times to W5877 which has much longer wash times but is a larger capacity machine. I guess it's the trade off for being able to wash more in one load.

All on all, I love Miele appliances, they've stood the test of time in my household

Love your video. I have an old miele washing machine but before that was an agitator washing machine. Now time-wise. You had to fill the washing machine with hot and cold water and put in the detergent put your clothes in turn on the agitator until you think it has done its job. Take the clothes out and put them through the wringer begin carefully not to wring your arm. I'm not joking this type of machine did cause injuries. Clothes then fell into tubs of water to go through the wringer again into another tub of water. Finally last time the wringer then out on the line to dry. The process took about 1 hour and you had to stay there until washing finished. Yes, miele takes about 2 and a half hours but you can walk away and leave the machine to do the work. Oh yes. But if I could get my old agitator washing machine fixed I would it cleaned wollen blankets super well and in my opinion got clothes super clean. However, it requires your time. Love my miele. It's over 20 years old and never needed anyone one to fix anything. Just keeps on going

I’ve got a newer W1 (PowerWash & 8kg) and you now can set a short (half) version of the long cotton program

With Miele you ALWAYS read the manual because that way it lasts for decades.

My 19 year old W866 has the finish dial which enables you to skip through to different parts of the program. The new Miele machines don't have this option which would be very annoying if I ever needed to buy another one. Thanks for the video.

My LG have Cotton Quick with aprox 1h 10 min cycle. I am using it very often!

My mom have Electrolux front loader and it have a time button. You choose a cycle and when the time shows up, by pressing this button, washing machine decrease the time by 15 min at a step and you can shorten the cycle time by a half or even more - really neat stuff.

In additional, my LG have child lock. By pressing two buttons together it lockes and deactivates all buttons.

At the end, my LG Direct Drive front loader is 10 years old (model: LG F1073ND) and still is really really quiet. Even in the room next to it, when the door is open, I can barely hear it work.

Love my LG ❤❤❤

Top loaders use a hot water supply, where as european machines are cold fill only which makes the wash cycle longer and use much less water which also makes wash times longer with better results.

Great video. I agree with your comments. The last Miele I had was dreadful. Got a Bosch now. I prefer it. I’m sure it won’t last as long but it is quieter and I prefer the cycles. Speed perfect makes cycles shorter. Thanks for sharing

A very nice review. I have looked at buying a Miele, but went for Bosch and have had no problems, it's around 7 years old... Wether we replace it with an other Bosch or Meille I am still studying... take care

The life expectancy has to be taken into account too; You are paying extra for something that is built to last and has replaceable parts. Our Miele can be on a flat-out spin and you can barely hear it (It is sat directly on concreate floor). It needs a boil wash every 6 months (or HG service engineer additive) to prevent mould build-up; Isn't that normal when everything is washed at 30°C these days?
