Nope, I won't knock No Soliciting doors. The homeowner has that sign for a reason. I respect their wishes.

This is refreshing to hear from a vendor. We work from home and more often than not are on conference calls or tasks requiring our undivided attention. It's difficult to juggle when our dogs are reacting to a doorbell. I'm fine with someone leaving a note or a door hanger, especially if they acknowledge that we have the sign.

Exactly I just got mad at someone for ignoring my sign and making me get up after getting injured. Respect the sign or prepare yourself.

It is also terrible even if you don't have a sign, when you say no thank you, and they get upset, argue with you, or won't leave.

Because I'm so annoyed with the salesman and religious people I literally just ordered a no soliciting sign and if they still knock I'm gonna lose my shit. Absolutely disrespectful and I would never buy from someone knocking after that sign is up!

I'm starting to wonder if most door-to-door salesmen are able to read. I have 2 signs on my front door in huge, red letters. They knock anyway. I just had one knock and then try to push past me into my house. I stood in his way and said no. "Why?" Because I don't let strange men into my house. "Well, can you explain why that is?" Because I had a problem with one in the past. "What kind of problem?" I finally had to threaten to call the law before he'd leave. Why can't y'all simply read the sign and act like decent humans? Just leave me alone!!!!

It's how women feel at the club when you do door to door sale. It's always the wrong timing. Im in the bathroom, someone knocks, Im cooking, someone knocks. If I seriously want solar installation, I havbe already researched and found the right guy to do the job 7 months before "you" knocked.

I just started a door to door job where i'm offering a state funded Solar program, 0$ out of pocket state funded panels and installation, lower rate per month from the service provider and a lot of compensation from federal government for doing so.. I'm really enthusiastic about this because i'm not actually selling anything. I work for the contractor being paid by the state. We have the permits to do this in townships where soliciting is illegal, but i still get hassled now and again. I never knock on a door with no soliciting signs out of respect. But your advice is great, and something i will probably adopt in the future.

If I had a 'Don't Walk on my Lawn' sign, I would hope everyone would respect my request. Same goes for a No Soliciting sign.

Had to put up doorbell blocker and no junk letters or mail sign and a do not disturb/don’t trresspass sign For these exact reason and people still knock and bother us If someone has a no disturb or no solicit please just leave them alone! i’ve been a victim of harassment/stalking and it makes me uncomfortable when someone i don’t know try’s to force them selfs into a conversation with me even had some old man ask “is your parrent home” when i’m the home owner very disrespectful

If you knock at someone’s door & they clearly say no soliciting. That’s a huge disrespect that could lead to some people getting shot

We have three dogs. One is a 135lb Great Dane, the other is a 100lb Great Dane Shepard mix, and a 85lb Boxer. The great thing is a young female that has issues with strangers. I have two signs: No soliciting and the other “beware of the dogs.” Occasionally someone will ring the doorbell. The three immediately jump up and start barking furiously. I made the mistake of opening the glass storm door a bit to speak, and the great Dane almost was able to push me out of the way to get to the doorbell ringer. With great effort, I was able to shut the door. I believe it was a pest control service sales person if you see signs of this nature, I would strongly advise that you pay attention, and just go onto the next house. I don’t want to see anyone hurt, and I don’t want my homeowners insurance rates to go up.

Leaving a letter or note on a door is BAD BAD BAD BAD. It tells potential thieves that nobody is likely at home, inviting break-ins.
Soliciting is soliciting, those signs should mean "stay off my property and leave it completely alone".

People flat out ignore my sign. I had a political door knocker even tell me they were "legally allowed" to do it anyway. They incurred wrath.
