They played this often, but I feel like there should be a definitive recording of it.

The best live recording of this track I've heard. Recorded at the Texas International Pop Festival in 1969.

This the song that started it all for Led Zeppelin. It is the first song they played together as a band.

Aerosmith did a cover of the first song that Led Zeppelin ever played together...
Train Kept A-Rollin'
The arrangement was done by the Yardbirds, and had been played by Beck and Page since then.
Aerosmith covered it in 1974.
There's a live recording of Beck playing it with Steven Tyler singing as well.
Aerosmith's version has become the quintessential version of the song.
👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎

Aboard a train
I met a dame
She was a hipster
Man a real gone dame
She wasn't pretty
For New York City
As we strut down on that ol' fairlane
With a heave and a ho
I just couldn't let her go

Get along
Sweet little woman get along
On your way
Get along
Sweet little woman get along
On your way
With a heave and a ho
I just couldn't let her go

The train kept a rollin' all night long
The train kept a rollin' all night long
The train kept a rollin' all night long
The train kept a rollin' all night long
With a heave and a ho
I just couldn't let her go

I made a stop round Albuquerque
She must'a thought I was real gone jerk
Got off the train at El Paso
A' looking so good I couldn't let her go
With a heave and a ho
I just couldn't let her go

The train kept a rollin' all night long
The train kept a rollin' all night long
The train kept a rollin' all night long
The train kept a rollin' all night long
With a heave and a ho
I just couldn't let her go.

If Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll, then Zeppelin was the the king of Raw and Bold. They had to have balls to play that wild in 69. Not caring and letting go has always been a good format for musical expression. Oh, one more thing...Nashville artists today are like so far from the truth, they need some Zeppelin in their jeans. Trace never had & doesn't have the product Trey!

This is the first time I heard them play this song. Their first together back in 1968, when they met on Gerard street.

Absolutely brilliant yet a bit crap! The whole band seem to be smothering each other's work with their sheer exhilaration and energy! Still, any recording of Zep is priceless and precious.

I prefer Aerosmiths' version, this is just random noise...
