It just does not get any better than this, the true LED Zeppelin.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome--THE LED ZEP-A-LIN"--It just gives me chills the way the great Chip Monck introduced artists at all the rock festivals back then. Because in those days, it was thought you couldn't be a band unless you had the article THE in your name. Thus, you had THE Cream, THE Blue Cheer, THE Pink Floyd, THE Jefferson Airplane, THE Iron Butterfly, THE Vanilla Fudge--you get the idea!

This concert took place at Texas Motor Speedway. You’ll often see this listed as Dallas. However, it’s actually Lewisville (suburb of Dallas). TMS has since been torn down and replaced with apartment complexes. It’s right off the highway (I-35). It’s less than 3 minutes from where I live. Every time I drive by the location I think of it’s historic importance in the legend that is Led Zeppelin. It’s a trip.

Never understood why they didn't do a studio version of this song.

I was at this festival and I I was about 14 rows back from the stage when Led Zep played. I didn't really remember them playing Train but the other songs they played from Led Zep 1 were awesome. The Yardbirds version is better in my opinion.

Bonham grooves and is technical in a simplistic matter, but when he plays fast, he is untouchable.

I saw them on the 2nd US tour and while I didn't have the first album yet, I'd heard a couple of tracks and had a SLIGHT idea of what I was going to hear. Imagine having walked into one of the shows before the 1st album dropped and seeing this band with no ideas, no expectations. If it didn't totally blow your mind, you probably shouldn't have been at a live show to begin with. 😄

0:21 - they later used this part of this song in dazed and confused after the bow solo

People hating on this need someone to fetch their pipe and slippers. This a revved up, high-horsepower take, which is Zeppelin putting it's creative stamp on it.

Sounds like a cross between the Yardbirds and the MC5. Pretty raw stuff.

This is the "Missing Link" musically speaking between the Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin. Maybe even Rockabilly to Heavy Metal. Great song. Think I like Keith Relf's (RIP) singing a bit more though. The double vocals in the beginning are real cool.

sounds really disjointed opposed to the yardbirds version but also seems like They were working out some new musical ideas with it as well which is pretty cool.
