Sleeping is very important. That is why I want to share my suggestion on what is the best sleeping position after you have a knee replacement. It is during deep REM sleep that our body heals the fastest. This also applies to after surgery.😴
But there is one problem. After surgery, you are usually in pain. The inflammation causes pain. If you are not in a lot of pain, then at least discomfort. And this affects your sleep.😧
If you're in pain, you don't sleep well or at all.
Then there is the fact that we sleep for 7-8 hours a day. That is a long time to be in 1 position or to be in a bad position. We can't control that because we are not aware of what is going on.
For these reasons, I want to share my suggestion on what is the best sleeping position after you have a knee replacement. Following this not only will make the pain you feel go away faster, but more importantly, it will also put your knee in the best position for it to heal and not have problems in the long run.🛌
Watch this video and find out what is the best position to sleep in.

I’m 2 weeks post op ACL surgery, how long do I have to keep sleeping on my back? & I also wear a brace when sleeping, keeping it locked at 0 degrees. When can I sleep with out the brace too ? Thank you !

Can the knee be too straight? Mine is sooo painful to straighten so I’m not sure how straight. It feels like it’s locking backwards

I had hip, and same side knee. Swollen and can’t bend like when the black was on it. It lasted 5 days. Keeping straight is hard and hurts. Want it bending. Is it bad to bend.

Thank you Reggie. I advise anyone who has 6/8 weeks before TKR to be in training like I did as glad did feel definitely helped with knee extention after op being very good. Train your knee to be operated on beforehand si get inti the swing familiar pose of keepung that leg/knee straight post op. I am always side sleeper all 72 yrs so kept my left leg straight while on sude sleepung by placing pillo next to left leg then rolled over placing tight leg bent on pillow. You practice those weeks beforehand & believe me think best thing to do alround for when have op & post op. Good luck all hope helps & thanks for care/help again Reggie 🌻🌻🌻

What about keeping your legs elevated while sleeping?

I wish it was more comfortable to sleep with my knee bent. It feels better when straight, or slight bend. I'm a side sleeper and wish I could sleep on my side right now.
