Should Christians Get Tattoos

After reading an article from World Magazine, I was intrigued on the topic of tattoos. Christians have such varied opinions on it. The Bible mentions in Leviticus about marking your body, John Piper says its not a sin, some pastors think it helps their ministry. What do you guys think?

I believe it depends on the motive for getting a tattoo and what you tattoo.

It falls right in line with should woman cut their hair? should woman wear pants, should men work and the wife take care of the home? I believe that religion is being shown in the wrong light, religion is meant to be personal, that's why he is called MY lord and savior Jesus Christ,   the problem with religion is people are going to church and listening to another individual and going by what he says instead of studying the bible themselves and praying about it. no one knows the full meaning of the bible therefore there will be different opinions on what the meaning behind a verse means. instead of being lead by man do your homework and pray about it and be lead by God, A Pastor will not get you into heaven, there is  no jury of Christians to judge you, God will judge you so why not allow him lead you?
