Hi Michele, Looking at the colour of the rug and walls, they are cool toned, when i saw that burnt color on the floor, it looked more harmonious together imo.
You could always brighten it up with some cushions.

I say definitely go with that burnt caramel color!! The other color would be nice in the fall and through winter but all year round. I think it would be too dark definitely go with that burnt caramel that was absolutely gorgeous!!

I was going to suggest you wear the trench coat no matter what, since it is so chic and unique. I am a wool knitter too but we do get moths and all my wool garments and afghans are threatened all the time, no matter what I do with our ventilation system and sealing off points of entry. Somehow they just get in and plague us. So, I would be a bit worried about furniture in pure wool. I do love velvet couches, though. They seem to wear exceptionally well. It will be exciting to see the finished room. (And, those home made potato chips were amazing.) 💖💖

I love both but I think the darker shade will ground the room and it has a richness that is inviting and warmth whereas the lighter colour may get lost and a bit too monochrome with the lighter colours.

Hi Michelle! I have an RH sofa made with the lustrous velvet which wrinkled terribly so I reordered using the wool fabric. I was told by RH that the lustrous fabric has no backing which can cause wrinkles. My new sofa was supposed to be here this month but has been pushed out to June. The couch you selected is beautiful. Selecting a color is tough so good luck as I’m sure either color would look fabulous in your home.
