I love this!!! And also, you have no idea how much good it made me feel to know it took almost a month for this room... My husband and I are also renting - and 2 months ago we moved from a studio to a 2 bedroom house. The move was kind of a sudden and unplanned - but we'd been passively looking for 6 months and never thought we'd find a house in our budget. The place was a little bit of a fixxer upper - but also our landlord doesn't really care what we do to it as the last tenant was here for 24 years and kind of really let things slide.... Anyway, I loved our studio!! But it was a total different color scheme and vibe to our new home and we went from 360sf to 900sf. Anyway, I've been feeling really sad about not having money to make our new house look "put together" but every week I do something small and it's coming together. I just need to remember it takes time - sure if I had thousands of dollars I could do it in a week, but that just isn't the case. So DIYing, and buying used have been the way - just scouring thrift stores, Craigslist, and marketplace searching for the right pieces!! I'm really into visuals so it's tough not liking how my space looks after all the energy I'd put into making our studio flawless. It was island vibes, peach walls very light wood floors, green accents, chrome fixtures, dark coral tile - our new place is dark wooden lodge ceilings, dark wood floors, dark brown accents/doors - cedar siding, red deck - and bronze fixtures. Went from light and airy jungle vibes to cozy mountain lodge vibes - but I know in time it can come together

I am absolutely blown away by this transformation!! Your living room looks like something out of a magazine. Thank you so much for sharing how you did everything on a budget. Thank you to your husband for all the great work he did as well. I can't wait to check out more of your videos!!

You did a great job! I would not give that coffee table away either. It's a vintage piece and it's gorgeous. If you do decide to move it out of the living room, because it is too big for the space, repurpose it as a bench - just put a cushion on the top. Just a suggestion, try a round table in the living room, it will create a better flow and break up all the square objects.

nice job again! thanks for not skipping over anything. I've done alot of furniture painting too and I love using a really big sea sponge instead of a brush. Tapping the sponge all over the piece ensures even coverage and instead of brush strokes, it looks like suede when it's dry- very cool!

This video was in my recommended and I LOVE how this turned out. You gained a new subscriber. My husband and I just moved into our house last summer. It’s an old 1958 ranch style and it was like a time capsule. It was gorgeous but everything needed to be updated. For our living room it took us 6 months. First we had to get the 1958 electrical outlets and wiring updated. My husband did most of that himself. Then we tore out the old orange shag carpet. The padding underneath had turned to dust. Then we painted the walls, ceiling, window trim and then we tore out the old baseboards and trim, and while my husband put in new flooring I cleaned and painted the baseboards and trim white and he reinstalled them. We had two brown old style heating/ac vents that I spray painted white and also our house has old vents to circulate air and I painted that vent black. We moved in our tv stand from our old house along with our area rug, and couches. My husband built our coffee table, sofa table and our entryway is in the living room so he built a coat rack and bench. We bought and hung a new curtain rod and new curtains and we bought a blanket ladder from Aldi, and an accent arm chair from Aldi, and my husband built a ladder shelf that I decorated with things from dollar general. I hung some of our old pictures and frames. Right now I’m still working on decorating. Buying things here and there, new throw pillows and blankets, wall art. Decor for our sofa table etc. oh and we found a lamp at Walmart of all places

A good old saying… “use it up… wear it out make it do or do without”… pays to be frugal… good job‼️‼️😁👍🏻

Those pads that you used for the clear coat drop tiny hairs all over. I put panty hose or cheese cloth over mine for a flawless finish. Looks beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration!
