About the Instructor:
Chef RV Manabat runs a Boutique Culinary & Pastry School and Chef RV's Café | Restaurant in his hometown Biñan City. RV is the author of the award-winning cookbook Baking Secrets. His latest book More Baking Secrets has become a national bestseller just a few months after its publication. RV trained in the pastry kitchen of The Peninsula Manila, and he was also trained by esteemed Filipino Pastry Chefs, Joey Prats and Vicki Villanueva. RV also attended authentic culinary classes in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, South Africa, Australia, and Spain.
RV obtained his Master's degree in Food Studies and Certificates in Wine and Artisanal Cheese programs from Boston University, Massachusetts. RV also finished the Perfecting Patisserie Diploma program at the Alaine Ducasse Pastry school, the Ecole National Superiore de la Patisserie in France. He also completed the Wedding Cake Decorating course at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City under the world-famous cake decorator Chef Toba Garret. RV also finished the Cake Decorating program at the French Pastry School in Chicago, and the Master Chocolatier Program at the Chocolate Academy in Belgium.
Before putting up his own Boutique Culinary & Pastry School in 2014, RV was a Chef-instructor at the Maya Kitchen Culinary Center Manila, and at the De la Salle University- College of Saint Benilde.
RV is also the Chocolate Ambassador for Belcolade Real Belgian Chocolate, and Chef-consultant for several food service institutions in the Philippines. If not travelling for food, RV spends most of his time in his hometown City - Testing recipes for his restaurant and upcoming cookbook "My Kitchen Secrets". And preparing hearty foods for his family and two dogs Bambi and Kiara, valued customers, and friends.
