another thing to consider in terms of age is being able to keep up and openly work with with the changing culture, it is SO clear that so many officials are so out of touch and stuck in their mindsets of over 20-30 years ago that it literally makes them seem senile even if they arent old at all.

in this day and age where A 52 YEAR OLD MAN in congress during 2023 is seriously asking if an ONLINE app connects to the wi-fi should be absolutely unacceptable. cognitive decline means nothing of these people are mentally stubborn to running on 20+ years ago logic while trying to solve todays problems.

Age does not itself matter, but ability (to think, speak, and delegate) matters. And age can regrettably cause an extreme decline on ability.

Age affects ability. For anything. You dont want old people in a position of power, not just because they have little left to loose, but because their brains are collapsing. I know. Compared to 10 years ago I have lost plenty of IQ. I have several friends who claim they are so much wiser now but are clearly demented. Limit the age of executives, unless they own their own company. Maybe 70?

Presidents select people who head agencies and determine policy. I vote for all politicians based on policies they support.

Its not age, its mental sharpness. If a candidate can pass a cognitive test with the results being public, not to shame them but to show confidence in his or hers voters.

The problem is power is too addictive to just give up, also it's too desirable for people with criminal traits to not try to obtain by unscrupulous means. Every nation needs to start being more careful I'm who it allows into these positions. Not doing so is unwise to say the very least.

Politicians should be required to pass intelligence tests before running.
