"And I strayed out of thought and time."

I know the trees get the most publicity but I would loved to have seen the two lamps in their peak brilliance. But with both sources of light; the actual creation and formation of them would b completely jaw dropping to see.
Gotta love the first age, full of so much wonder and out of this world splendor.

man
imagine what Yoisten (sorry if the spelling is wrong) could do with 1 billion dollars...
The stories he'd be able to bring to the screen

Damn you're condensing 1000s of years into 5 minutes and you're still able to take chronological order into account. How refreshing!

I love how casually you breezed over the Helcerxe and kinslayings.

I saw another video a few months ago that was trying to create a visual timeline of Arda and it showed the Years of the Lamps being roughly 55% of the total time Arda existed until 200 of the 4th age, and then the death of the two trees left all other ages in the final 25%. I had never seen it visualized like that and man do I thirst for some stories of the Wars of the Powers!

Quite the speedrun of a video that actually covers a HUGE amount of time(when converting from Valian- to normal years)😅

While Melkor was the most powerful of the Valar, at the same time he was the weakest of them because he could not create anything of worth. All he could do is destroy and corrupt. Mock everything of worth that was in Arda. He commited the greatest of sins: destroying the Lamps, defiling then anihilating the Two Trees and of course creating the Orcs by kidnapping some of Iluvatar's first born children the Elves by torturing, mutilating and corrupting their very beings. That was his weakness, he wanted to control the fate of Arda by defying Eru's will for it. He truly belonged in the dark void because that is what his essence: dark nothingness. Great video Yoystan thanks once again.

You know - you had an extra second there at the end. Fascinating information succinctly rendered. You are a master of your craft and are greatly appreciated. Until the next one, , ,

Melkor was like the spoiled child who kept destroying everything his siblings built

Something I found in HoME which was incredibly creepy as far as the Valar are concerned was that the ban of the Valar was perhaps not laid on the Noldor due to any crime, but because the Noldor were actually the perfect weapon to keep Morgoth contained in Beleriand and dissipate his powers over the course of wars instead of destroying the landmass of Middle-earth by confronting him directly. The Valar therefore needed to provide the Noldor some incentive to remain and keep trying instead of coming back defeated.

To summarise, from one possible perspective, Valar played everyone like a fiddle.

Great Video, its amazing how much information you can convey in only 5 minutes while also maintaining your calm and pleasent way of speaking.
I have a question though. At the end of the video you say, that the first age begins with the first rise of sun and moon. Is that really the case? I always thought that the first age began with the awakening of the elves at cuivienen and that part of the first age takes place during the years of the trees and part of it takes place during the years of sun and moon.

A few years ago when Amazon released screenshots of the two trees of Valinor from their new series I got so excited. Little did I know of the disappointment that awaited. Its a shame ROP could have been such a great series if done right and by the lore.
