I worked at a building supply company for 22 years and keyed locks there. I now key locks on the side. I ran across a couple of these today. It had me stumped. Now I know. Thanks for the help!

We just bought our first house and we were wondering just how easy it would be, to replace the old deadbolt. Did NOT think it would be THIS easy!

Hello, I'm a maintenance man in Portland Maine who is super interested in becoming a locksmith. I am trying to learn all I can and I want you to know that your videos are great. Just your lockpicking videos alone helped me a lot.

Thank you! Upgrading the locks in my older home. I would have never figured this one out on my own!

As a fellow locksmith, I find this lock used so much in my area. Cheap locks no doubt.

Thanks for the follow up video, what happens when the head is stripped or rusted do you drill it out?

I see this being useful for gates, where, with "normal" double-cylinder deadbolt (like a Schlage B662) could be defeated by just reaching between the bars and unscrewing.

Good to see how to take it apart, now I just need that wrench:)
So, somebody changed the cylinders on this lock I have on my door, but now in the outside lock the key turns to a certain spot and then is gets stuck somewhere and cannot unlock the door. The interior side does not have a problem.
Is that something I can fix myself?

You have the key> I lost the key. No solution for me?

Hi I was wondering the gold part that you pulled out with the key, is it possible that can fall out due to wear and tear? I’m asking because I came home and put my key in and unlocked my door and that piece came out of my lock with the key! I freaked out and thought I was burglarized but I was told by maintenance it could just happen and I don’t believe it.

My dead bolt looks similar, but there is no hole for an allen key...

Hi Terry thanks so much for the excellent video (as all your videos are). Quick question: I’ve bought an old house that the previous owner at some point installed double cylinder Lori locks on all exterior doors. They’re a giant pain because if the deadbolt is locked and someone comes to that door you have to have a key to unlock it from the inside to let someone in. I want to convert it to a basic single cylinder lock with a simple knob in the inside for easy locking and unlocking without the key . Can I easily convert mine, and keep the same common house key? Or do I need to buy a whole new lock and get it rekeyed to the house keys?

I want to put a good security deadbolt and doorknob on my mothers frontdoor, but need one that is longer tban what they are making these days Yhe holes are set in farther i guess. I have found some, but would like to know if you can recommend one that you feel is a really good one.

Does anyone know how to remove the locks that have metal plugs where the screws should be? I can't figure out a non-destructive way to remove the plugs.
