Go happy I stumbled across your video!!! It’s been many years since I’ve had a vegetable garden. I planted tomatoes, green beans and cucumbers. I knew about pruning tomatoes but not cucumbers. I’ve watched a dozen of mostly the same info about suckers….I’m so glad I watched yours too. Very enlightening about the ratio of male female flowers produced on the different stem growth.

This was helpful. It seems like I get way more male flowers than female and hence fewer cucumbers. I will try this to see if it really does take care of that problem! Most pruning videos have you removing the suckers (that would develop into 2G branches). That keeps the vine simpler but wouldn’t help my problem.

you cut the main branch after 12-13 leaves. if we have five second generation branches, how many branch should cut for 2g and how many branches should cut for 3g if you have five third generation branches. out of five 2&3 generation branches. can you ans for that please. Thank you
