Welldone Matt, I've got 6 pairs that have hatched young. All Timbrado canaries.. I've got 4 pairs with 4 young on & 2 pairs with 5 young on, so happy days. Soon as I ran my cock birds in they started to chat to each other mouthing like they do. Few days after the cocks must of done their business.

Congrats on a wonderful start and also on crossing 18K. Was wondering those early shows when the Canary room now started that is not on you tube would they be available anywhere? would love to view them.

Hello again! Today I have had my first hatch of canary chicks ever and I do need some advice please.

I am wondering what is okay to feed them. I have calcium, multi-vitamin powder, probiotics and grog that I was giving to the parents. It was mixed in with their egg food that would occasionally have broccoli, carrots and some sort of fruit mixed into it. I have been reading conflicting advice regarding what to feed when there are chicks, with some breeders saying calcium and multivitamins are too much for young chicks and that they should only be given egg food (without the broccoli, etc.) and seed. And that the supplements (calcium and multivitamins) to be given once per two weeks.

With my own intuition, it would make sense to provide as much nutrients on a daily basis, especially calcium, considering the rate of growth that they go through. My questions are;

Is it okay to provide calcium and multivitamins everyday alongside the egg food (which is already enriched as part of the ingredient list), if not, how often if at all?
And also is there anything that I should absolutely not provide?

Thank you in advance and good luck with your own breeding season 😁

Hello there Matt I was directed to you for a pair of canary’s. I have just come from parrots and looking for something a little less loud and a little more songs. If you could contact me that would be great. Thanks
