Awesome build man. Can confirm that placing objects in build mode makes them static. But heads up, I ran into a bug where sometimes all my clutter will disappear sometimes, outta nowhere. Don't know why, but a fix I think is working for me is when your clutter disappears, go into build mode, top view, select the structure it's all in, and then put it back down. It does a little refresh.

Nice! - ive actually not used the circular hab before, but it has a really nice space, and you've made it look really homely. And on the snapping, it's so excitable and drives me insane.

Came to youtube to see a few outpost builds and damn. You people are good at this. I just slap a bed and a couple of boxes and outpost done. Bravo.

Another outpost needs your help. Here, I'll mark it in your navigation.

So happy to rediscover you, I used to watch your fallout 4 videos all the time. It’s been 6 years since and I’m so happy to be back

Dear Darth Xion,

Thanks for making an outpost video for Starfield, I found the ones you made for 76 really handy. This might be an oversight, but the 2nd storage crate furnishing can be used as an output for your resource collection containers. You can link multiple storage crates & they all fill from the last crate. Eg I have a helium extractor linked to gas storage (stores 150 helium) linked to a storage crate (stores 300 helium) & then use the storage crate as a resource pool for any items (like generators) that require helium fuel. That way when my gas storage tank lights up green, I can just take the contents for myself & let it refill over time.

I have a short video on my channel about using this technique to make credits mining Plutonium, it's less than a minute, if you check it out it'll make sense to someone like you in about 2 seconds. Enjoy!

That's funny I built my started outpost on the exact same planet xD. Thank you, glad someone else thinks it was also a good one :)!

Wouldn't hold my breath on Bethesda fixing the building system honestly. It will be mod authors that make it what it should have been in the end. Also there is a nice little mod/ini tweak on nexus that already vastly improves placement, control, snapping distance, rotation speed, and some other things. Highly recommend it and it doesn't affect achievements either because it's ini edits.

I am really anxious to get into outpost design but decided to wait for the inevitable patch to sort out the issues you mentioned before doing so. I hope the patch won't be but another month or 2. For now I have the bear minimum bounty clearing station, mission board and a single hab at 1 location. Great video, thanks for that!

A thing that helps is knowing that a link pad can transport 1 ware, 1 ore, 1 liquid, and 1 gas in each direction without getting too tangled up thanks to storage type separation. in the case of inter-system pads, that 'outbound' gas is probably going to be your He3 pipeline, but the "return" gas pipeline can be something else.

Great camp. I built my first outpost on a hostile planet because I got iron, aluminum, beryllium and H3O all in one outpost. I bring in copper from another outpost and use the mats for power leveling and caps, uh credits. I also am frustrated with a few things like outpost material management and snapping. I have a bunch of storage bins for stuff produced in that outpost. I also have a long line of bins I store stuff I bring back to the outpost. It's a very long line of containers because it's impossible to put more anywhere nearby without it snapping. Then say I want to get some titanium to take somewhere else I need to search through each solid bin until I find it. These are all fixable problems and if Bethesda doesn't fix it I am sure moders will. The mods we will eventually get are on thing I am really looking forward to.

Agree with you on everything. Hopefully everything, especially the storage and transfer system is fixed soon. I got a lot of inspiration from your build. Thank you.

for the snapping use tunnels as its easier to move them around than prefabs. For storage make more bins and link them together so you get more storage.

What a great looking outpost! The only thing missing is a bathroom with a lavatory!

Enjoyed your video, and having explored outpost building a bit, share your frustration, but it will come with updates. Cheers!

From my own experience (lit) today lol... (i've been base building all day), the main stand out to me seems to be the upgraded space port that allows you to modify your ships with all the starship mods you have currently discovered unlike the starports i've visited which will only have a couple of ship types available, so it feels like outposts are where you want to build ships lol.

I can attest! You can move found objects in build mode, and if you go back in build mode and replace them
And move them Around, but they are static while not in build!

So to answer your question YES you can!

Yeah, the only big QOL thing they need to focus on for outposts right now is the snapping. We just need a toggle for manual/snapping placement, it's a pretty easy fix tbh.

Picking stuff up from other bases/ships rn “works” but you’ll spend 20 minutes tryna drop a potted plant or microscope at just the right angle so the rotation took lines it up level with the surface you wanna put it on
