I feel like doing studies can be compared to eating your vegetables: they're seen as not really that fun, but they're good for you, and some people really love them!

When doing art studies, my favorite thing to draw is Pinterest clothing references, especially when they have fantasy elements. I can use them as an excuse to develop my character's worlds while still improving.

Honestly, at this point studies are all I do. So I kind of have to learn how to be original lol

it's funny, i have the exact opposite problem: can't draw without a reference, and that's why im subscribed to people like u who just draw stuff how they like it

this was so informative and fascinating! as someone who doesn't draw it opened my eyes to a lot of how this stuff works :D also the vibes are v soothing and nice I loved it 😍

What you said at 3:00 hit me so hard. I’ve been drawing for almost 4 years now and I’m just now trying to develop my style more and learn anatomy. It’s basically been 4 years of exclusively drawing head shots and those aren’t even good 🥲 This video and your finding your art style video really helped me.

Plz I cat get over ur art! The finished works all look so majestic and ur style is to die for. And us aesthetic is so bright yet so nice to look at. Also, the way u film ur is so entertaining ^^

studies are really important ^^
and something my own art teacher recommended was start off with objects. for example, a flowerpot! and start off doing greyscale. this really helped me understand values and base shapes without worrying about colours! and also try doing studies with different materials. for example, i recently finished a small study of a clay statue, and also one of a flower. the difference between these materials and how you'd change your shading/colouring style to make it look different is a useful skill to have :)

I absolutely LOVE to just draw things on my desk in ballpoint pen. Trying to get the light and shadows right with only the white of the paper and ink is a great way to get me out of an art funk and thinking about how I can capture the likeness of an object or person. Great video as usual, MWUAH delicious content ❤

I think it's interesting how art betters our understanding of reality.

This was a great video but I want people to keep in mind that if you only do study’s from photos or from life trying to replicate it as much as possible, when you want to have more stylised work then your going to end up in the situation I’m in where you feel like you lost in trying to find a style and voice in your art and it can be extremely frustrating. Study’s are still extremely important but you should do them along side your own personal stylised work, try to find a balance between the practicing both in you art. Remember art is supposed to be fun though.

At some point when you feel like it, could you make a video on how to do digital art?

Your art study videos are wonderful even for us non-artists because it's honestly very easy to just chill out while listening to them. Bring on the art studies!
