Here's how to write formulas for ionic compounds that contain polyatomic ions. In order to write formulas for polyatomic ions, you have to look at a chart or table of polyatomic ions to find out what the charge of each one is. Then, you figure out how many other ions will be necessary to balance out the charges and make it neutral.

Hands down one of the most understandable teachers I have ever seen. If every teacher could teach like this I'm pretty sure the world would be much smarter. great vid

"...and these are just a few of my favorite polyatomic ions..." The best teachers love what they teach and who they teach. Thanks for the assistance my man!

dude it takes you 10-15 minuets to perfectly and effectively explain things it takes my chem teacher 2 days to explain. Like actually, I found your vids, and my grades started rising so I hardly pay attention in class anymore and my grades are doing so much better. Thank you so much.

I've been staring at my textbook for 4 hours trying to comprehend this. You taught me in less than 12 minutes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I’ve been staring at my chemistry book for 5 hours trying to figure out how they were getting these formulas and you’ve just explained it clearly in 10 minutes. Thank you so much.

I believe you have figured out the BEST way of teaching a complex subject like Chemistry, bar none. In other teaching videos, we are left waiting while the instructor writes out words using a pen tablet, sometimes having to correct a mistake. You have the drawings already pre-drawn and you simply pick them up and add them to your teaching canvas. A brilliant use of old-school methods. Your hands help to further guide the student through your incredibly well thought out course. I'm helping my daughter with her Chemistry, and this is what I show to her before we start (and it's what I watch to re-learn Chemistry). I'm really, really impressed.

Many polyatomic ions end in "ate" and "ite". Monoatomic anions end in "ide". Exception to "ide" ending is hydroxide (OH-) and cyanide (CN-) ions.

Bro, u have such a way of teaching. It so well done that I'm slightly annoyed that you're not my science teacher.
