Chinese person here~ This dish silken tofu with century egg 皮蛋豆腐. We eat raw silken tofu as a 凉拌菜 (cold dish). Cucumber is common addition to cold dishes. The stuff in the middle of the “book” consists of century egg and chillies for that reason. Usually, a sauce consisting of soy sauce is added on top of this to give everything some flavour.

Or its more likely that its a decorative piece for the centerpiece for a fancy dinner.
