Thank you for showing this in such a way that is easy to remember. Left /front (f) - right/rear (r) is perfect. And left (L) I can remember L for (back) Loop!

Thanks for your little tutorials, they will be very useful for me. And thanks for showing throwing and continental style, I use both to help give relief for my arthritis.

Thank you very much for the clever M1R and M1L tutorial. I hadnt heard of that saying before. I really like the way you do it!!!

"Rear - right" is so helpful! I've been using the mantra "I left through the front door, I'll be right back" but for some reason I always have to think twice about the right side of the mantra. I like "right-rear" better!

Thank you, Andrea! Until now I only knitted socks with the cuff down method… but I really want to learn to knit toe up socks. Are you planning on making more tutorials, at least for the heel and heel flap? I’d love to, because you’re the best teacher! So detailed in your explanations! ❤️

I love those mantras and have been using them for quite a while now. I actually prefer a knit front and back increase, but I know there are people who don't like the look of those.

Andrea, I would love for you to answer Debbie Kolody’s question about doing the increases before the first stitch and after the last stitch in making your Bear Paw socks. Am I reading your pattern wrong? I got very confused and had to tink back many rows because my stitch pattern got off. Are we to do the increase after knitting 1 stitch at the beginning and then between the next to last and last stitch? I can’t seem to find any help with this. I would love to see a step by step video on how you do the Fleegle heel in the Bear Paw pattern. Thanks so much! Love all your videos!!

I always panic in patterns when it comes to the M1R or the M1L because I'm always afraid I'm doing in wrong no matter how many times I've done it. Right-Rear will be my go to mantra from now on!

I find it easiest to manage both my tension on the toe of the toe-up sock and the increases by placing the increases one stitch further to the middle of the sock - in other words, knit 2, m1r, knit to last 3 stitches, m1L, knit 2, then repeat for the next needle. As long as the toe is in stockinette, this doesn’t seem to make any difference to the pattern design.

Great tutorial. Thanks.
Would love to see how to m1r before the first stitch and m1l after the last stitch.
In pattern form front needle:
m1r, knit to end, m1l, so I would add a stitch between the back and front needles. Mine alway come out loose.

Into the rear was all I needed to know. 🤣

I’ve been trying for two years to make toe up socks and I have the worst time getting the first four rows finished I’m 76 years old and so I’m a little arthritic in the fingers but I have tried different needles. The metal needles are nice but they’re very slippery and then I tried the bamboo needles and they can be easier but how do you keep your knitting so neat I feel like I’ve done everything right in my sleep in my dreams and watching 1000 videos of you girls and I just can’t figure out the fidleyness. help help help

How bad would it be if I switch the position of the left and right increases? Like, do m1l first and then do the m1r?
