Chroma vs Saturation? 🎨 #shorts

Chroma vs. Saturation. 🎨 They both refer to how intense/colorful a color is. We can lower the chroma of a color with black, white, or grey. But lowering saturation basically means mixing with white. So grey will lower saturation as well because it contains white, but black will only lower brightness, not saturation. (At least, theoretically and digitally. When actually mixing paints, black does lower saturation because it reflects some light.) Oil painters sometimes use the terms interchangeably. But when working with digital images or digital paintings, it’s important to know that when you lower Saturation, the color will also get lighter. So you’ll also need to reduce the Brightness to stay at the same lightness value. #colortheory
