Applying a low-oxalate diet has brought major improvements to my health. I used to have terrible knee pain when hiking. After nine months of oxalate reduction, last week I went on a steep 7-hour hike with 1, 200 m elevation gain and loss, and no knee pain, even when jogging down one part of the trail. I'm 65. That is just one way my health has improved. I am very grateful to Sally K. Norton.

I have oxalate poisoning from my Superfood smoothies, the blood spots on my arms are disappearing, the white spots are gaining a little color. My vision has improved a little, it was really wonky. I am enjoying eating the carnivore way it has restored my balance, I am getting stronger and no longer falling. Thank you Sally K Norton I am learning so much more from your book to protect my great grandson’s.

My mother is 96. She always ate whatever pleased her at the moment. She was not into meats (once in a while she ate poultry), but she does love fruits and vegetables. She never had high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol or any other chronic illness, not even arthritis! Wish I could say the same about my health

The lesson I get from this is not limit myself to any one food or even a restricted diet. Too much of a good thing is BAD.

Outstanding video. For years, I ate so many beans and greens, including spinach salads and limited meat intake. My joints, especially my knees, began to severely inhibit my ability to go up and down stairs. I work in Cardiac surgery and began to wonder if I was on the verge of needing bilateral knee replacements. Eighteen months ago I started a Keto diet and transitioned into Carnivore. Every bit of my knee pain is gone, my weight dropped 34 pounds, and I have tremendous stamina and energy. I ride my bike without knee pain, climb stairs and have regained everything I had lost. I am on zero medications. I now know limited vegetable intake has made healthy changes for my body. Thanks for this informative message.

In all honesty my feelings on everything is ...were living in a toxic world, full stop! The air is polluted, the water is polluted, our food is polluted. This happened because of greed and power! Now we're all holding another toxin in our hands, our mobile phones. My feelings on all of this is, the sooner the better this world hits a reset, and god willing the next time around people in power will realise you can't eat money. God bless you all in this upside down world. ❤️

I think it's ok to eat almost everything but stay within the season. this naturally allows you to avoid certain foods, we eat cauli, brussels, broccoli in winter when they are cheap and plentiful, and then in summer they get expensive so I avoid them, and we switch to zucchini and pumpkin and more salad things. same for fruits, which I personally don't love, but I some fruits in season (sugar plums are a treat, which I always enjoy in summer, along with mango and other stone fruits). this way you give your body a break, and perhaps you'll be able to notice if something is "bad" for you.

I have decided to stop eating totally and live on water and my two tablespoons of Costco organic olive oil and some spices. After watching this video, I have learned that there is nothing I can eat. I am 71 and so healthy my doctor says I'm his star patient. But, I now know more than my doctor. I gave up anything refined carb, boxed, sugary, salty, processed, pre-made long ago. I gave up meat, which is hard on a huntress. Fish have plastic and mercury in them -- so they are out. I currently eat a fillet of fish and a tin of sardines once each week, which is scary, plus loads of legumes, beans, lentils, soybeans, leafy greens, almonds and walnuts, barley, brown rice, barley, couscous, watermelon, honeycrisp apples, raspberries, blackberries, beets, avocados, whole grain flour tortillas, beets, powdered dark chocolate and daily tea I grow my vegetables and rhubarb and berries. I live near a river I fish. Well, I've tossed out everything on this list because it either has lectins, toxins, oxylates, or sugars. That leaves, well, nothing.

Before changing the way I eat, I was eating almonds every day! I had chronic hip, neck and back pain. It is unbelievable that eating something I loved was likely the cause of my pain!

Eat a variety of foods, and not too much of anything.

So I’m on a keto diet, have lost 50 lbs… 350 - 299 since July. ‘23. I just do the meat and fat, so basically carnivore. So I was was like, ok let me just add spinach salads just to get more potassium and magnesium. I kid you not, I have started getting knee pain, and other pain in different areas! I’ve been doing the spinach for about two weeks. I feel energized, but just so many different aches, and just the other day the other knee pain started. Seriously!!!! Lol Thanks for the info!

I LOVE Sally Norton! She's so "chill" and she knows what she's talking about. As a 61 year old woman, I can attest that eating high protein is important for me, and a few carbs -- fruit and sometimes squash makes me happy and feels right in my body. I used to do Keto (aka: almond flour everything) and was addicted to peanut butter and chocolate. Now I lean hard into meat and eggs, dairy and fat. That oxalate dumping is REAL. At one point I had this white "dust" or dry skin thing happening all over my body. Thankfully, it's gone, but there's always some way that my body dumps, especially if I imbibe in a high oxalate food. Great interview Lillie! Thank you.

I was eating so many almonds. Almond milk, almond flour, raw almonds, spinach, chia seeds, turmeric. I started eating this way because of an autoimmune disease destroying my skin. It used to be manageable and now it’s debilitating. I’m on the lion diet now trying to reverse the damage.

Oxalate dumping is REAL!! I had crystals coming out of my eyes, in my hair, and found lots in my bedsheets. Corresponded w fatigue. I also have kidney stones because of them. I used to be vegan keto & lived on oxalates. Now I'm thriving on carnivore 🎉

Dandruff on the back of the neck sometimes is the accumulation of hair conditioner. sounds weird, but that is usually the thickest hair accumulation and the last place that conditioner washes out of the hair. try separating your hair and really rinsing it out. I also lift all my hair off my back and shoulders and final rinse my back, in order to remove any left over soap residue traveling down my back. This soap residue on the neck and back can cause breakouts.

My grandparents ate spinach all the time. They also enjoyed eating nuts such as walnuts and almonds which my grandma used in her cooking and baking. They ate meat, poultry, fish, dairy, eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, oils, etc. Add in ice cream pies and pastries, much of which grandma baked herself. Both lived into their 90's, grandma 98 (died in 1994). They never had heart disease or arthritis, or cancer and were thin and healthy all their lives so go figure. My mom eats all those no-no foods too and she's 91. When it comes to food and diet, I live by two credos: Everyone is different, and moderation is the key.

I’m not sure if it’s about giving up all these foods, but about proportions and quantities, what it’s for and how often to use/eat it. Moderation, good water with good minerals, and an earth based diet avoiding processed foods and oils. That’s prob the best bottom line to always adhere to.

Awesome video. I was vegan three times in my life each time around 6-12 months with a daily ‘ritual’ of a massive raw kale smoothie and water (no fruit in it), chia seeds soaked in soy milk, and a large portion of lentils or beans. And tofu or tempeh for protein, and heaps of fruit and vegetables plus rolled oats.
Now everyday I eat grass fed red meat, eggs, sardines, small amount of butter for cooking, and some sauerkraut and kimchi, that’s it. It’s been transformative in terms of body recomposition and improved mental health.
Yes, to many people this would be boring but for me the easy meal choices and minimal prepping time has simplified my life and made it better. I personally believe as close to a whole food animal based diet is the key to optimal physical and mental health. Best wishes everyone. 🙂

I am so glad I ran into your video. I have moved into a more protein rich diet with increased fat (coconut and meat fat). And, have reduced a lot of fruit and some of these other foods. Noticed a big difference with brain and joints. I follow Dr. Gundry who is big on lectins, but I have also eliminated gluten. Now I can look at oxalates. I had no idea how many innocent foods are loaded with it.
Thank you so much for the interview. Ms. Norton is so knowledgeable. What an eye opener.
