When I was a child, My mom, my sisters, and I were walking home from a store. It was almost Christmas. A complete stranger drove up next to us an gave my mom some money and said "Buy those girls something nice for Christmas." He smiled and drove away. I was young and I'm not sure how much it was, but I do remember the look of shock and joy on my mother's face. We has a good Christmas that year thanks to a stranger's kindness.

I had an RV and mobile home repair business. I was told by many customers that i didn't charge enough. I sometimes do little jobs for people and not even charge them.
Now, I'm retired on a fixed income and qualified for weatherization on my house which includes insulation, door seals, and a new refrigerator. I feel like my taking care of customers has been paid forward back to me and i am grateful.

I have paid it forward a lot in my life lately!! Not to toot my own horn, I provided assistance to my cousin recently for eight months when she went through homelessness. I know what it's like to lose everything and to bounce back! You'll never know, but the one person you help out unselfishly without wanting anything in return might just be the one taking care of your needs one day!!

Kindness isn't about payback, it's just about being kind. I brought a homeless woman a meal deal couple days ago without thinking, because she was down and out on luck and was struggling. It's not hard to do, everyone can be kind

All of these stories are heartwarming. ❤️ May God continue to bless both the giver and the receiver. I've been the receiver of an act of kindness more than once and more than once, I have paid it forward.

I was once homeless in Hawaii, 1-1/2 year. My wife and I was stuck on stupid with our dependency on wrong things, so we decided to go clean and get out of the streets. I met a man named Marc Reynolds and he hired me because of my honesty of telling him where I lived, he gave me a job as a carpenter and because of him, my wife and I was able to get our daughter back, and got our apartment and give back whenever we can...like Marc did us! My wife and I drifted apart but we raised our daughter and now she’s a graduate student (law school) and I’m working at somewhere I love to be. Thank you Marc, YW

**MY FAITH IN HUMANITY HAS BEEN RESTORED**

My wife of 42 years and our both disabled, but she is far more sick than I. She has been severely ill for 28 years and at times we had no health insurance so I had to buy insulin from people on Craigslist to keep her alive. For a year went without Glaucoma medicine and lost much of her eyesight. We continued to have had faith God would provide. During 2012 our only car broke down and a friend told me about a friend of his who had a Jeep Cherokee for sale. The man wanted $2000, but we were struggling to buy food at the time, so buying the vehicle was not possible. A week later my friend called me and said that the owner of the Jeep was going to give it to us for free. He was currently having it cleaned and repaired before donating it to us. A few days later the owner of the Jeep drove it to my home, handed me the title, keys, shook my hand and said, "Be blessed" and turned around and walked away and I never saw him again. In March of 2016 we received a inheritance, paid off our past due medical debts and had enough to donate a total of $20, 000 to several different individuals in need of basic living/housing expenses. It felt so good to be the ones helping others in need for a change rather than always being the ones in need.

A month later, on April 18, 2016 our home flooded during what came to be known in Houston as the "Tax Day Flood". We had no flood insurance or money to cover the $42, 000 of damage, so we just cleaned up what we could continued to live in our home as is. On April 14, 2017 a windstorm damaged our roof and fence. Four months later, on August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey hit Houston and completely destroyed our fence and did more damage to our home, ripping holes in the siding...and mold starting growing in our home. Our bedroom and bathroom walls filled with mold which had a massively negative effect on my wife, so she began sleeping on the couch in our main room and I on the floor next to her. Throughout the night I listen to her wake up and choking on the fluids that build up in her lungs from the mold. We had a little money from the insurance to repair the roof, but I had to get permission from our Home Owners Association to any repairs. Since HOA repair applications take months for approval, I met with the president of the HOA board. He already knew about my wife being sick. I told him that I needed to start repairs immediately because the longer my wife had to breathe the mold, the worse it was for her, and it could eventually kill her. I showed him detailed drawings of what I had planned. He gave me only two specific guidelines to follow and said I could start immediately, while the applications were being approved. We started repairs, but two months later, we were notified that we were in violation for doing unauthorized work and ordered to stop and tear down all the work we had started. We had no money left and since I didn't tear down the work we had already done, our HOA filed a $100, 000 lawsuit against us. I was told that the president of the HOA had died and that we never had permission to do any repairs. The HOA then fabricated false accusations against us and started fining us $200 a day. If they win their fake lawsuit, they will take our home, we will be homeless and it will kill my wife. Twenty years ago the HOA's attorney tried to sue us and he actually told me, "I'll make your life a living hell!" We do not need money, but we are hoping that an attorney will volunteer to help us. We are keeping the faith that a miracle will happen.

This one time a customer was a couple bucks short on some product. I changed the price so that he would have enough as we have the option to do price changes on price matching and customer satisfaction along with other choices so it really didn't seem like a big deal to me. He was so grateful, shook my hand and told me to have a great day. I'll never forget that. It's those pleasant moments that almost make you forget retail can be a horrible job.
