iPhone 5: Clocked Faster Than We Thought? (1.3 GHz Clock Speed)

I updated my Geekbench app today and noticed it read a higher clock speed of 1.29GHz opposed to the 1.01GHz clock speed I initially got when benchmarking for my iPhone 5 review. Anyone else got these clock speeds?

To answer TLD's question, yes, I test Geekbench 2 at up tp 1.3. It seems to vary.

Hmm, the clock speed difference would account for ~1.5x the performance difference alone. A few other tweaks (like the notoriously bad memory controllers on Cortex A9s) would bring it up to the 2x claim, and that performance number is pretty spot on.

Even a dual-core device is still fairly responsive and quick. You must understand there are more services running in the background than a lot of computers have. Computers are pretty fast with dual-core (not by much) because it has fast items to rely upon. Such as fast RAM, and a much faster processor. If you can imagine this, the amount of cores is like a highway, and the clocked rate is similar to the speed limit. The higher, the faster, the more lanes, the quicker data passes through.

Stock Jelly bean 4.1 with a quad-core processor is absolutely smooth. Even using a ROM, if it's stable enough, then it should hold up the entire OS nice and easily. Jelly Bean on the Galaxy Nexus right now is already pretty smooth. There's hardly, hardly, hardly any lag at all, and it's super buttery to use. Absolutely amazing for a dual-core.

Stock Jelly Bean doesn't have many apps that run in the background, and you can easily freeze them and take off live widgets that may be on your screen.

Geekbench score of 1601 and off the charts GLBenchmark 2.5 results. This phone is cranking some serious horsepower.
