That line about “I’m going to crap myself.” Been there😂😂. Love this. Glad to see something so wholesome.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this crap with minimal/no training 😅
I've survived every time why stress just do it. 😅

She trained her brain and most of the time that’s the first and most important thing. I’m super impressed by her ability to adapt and pull through even though she thought she might crap her pants lol

There are many things in life I’ve done that I’m actually glad I “wasn’t prepared” or “didn’t train” for. Sometimes not expecting how hard something would be actually makes it easier.

I can think of a lot of things I would have never even tried if I had known how hard they would be, but was so glad I did them when it was over.

As a distance runner her comments are so real

This is cute, and fun, and yeah she is obvious tough. I won’t take that away from her! But I hazard a guess that while she doesn’t formally “train”, she is young, and probably very active in other ways - yoga, tennis, volleyball, Zumba, whatever. Training for speed means “run 3-4 days a week at specific increasing intervals over 12 weeks leading up to the event”. But if you are ACTUALLY active all the time, you can do damn near anything which she is proving. At 55, I mostly walked my first half marathon in 3:30 with no “training”. This year I jogged it in 2:52, 3 weeks after Covid had me puking for 2 solid days. Now I actually want to get serious about time so I am starting to “train”. It’s all in what you want! Go girl! Watch your knees, ankles, and nutrition and hydration, but keep going 😁 and good on you for supporting her! You don’t just bring your camera, you help her hydrate and replenish electrolytes, and give encouragement. I bet you help her up and down stairs the next day! (When the real pain begins 😂)

I mean great she's challenging herself but....all this no training before long distance races like this can lead to injuries and a LOT of loss of mobility down the line 😢 would not recommend as someone who has seen a fair share of running based injuries/mobility issues

If you can, I highly suggest training for this. I have friends who are experienced athletes have injuries due to not preparing properly. They were teens to early twenties so it wasn’t due to age.
