0:00 - Intro

BAD:

1:02 - Expensive

The normal RCF starts at just over 68k…which makes sense
The track edition starts at just over 101k..so about 33k more
That also makes it way more expensive than a BMW M4 Comp
A Audi RS5
Or a Mercedes C63

2:06 - The weight savings

Lexus saved about 120 lbs from the normal RCF for this track edition and they did it in some cool ways we’ll talk about later, but they also did it in some silly ways

2:49 - One spec fits all

let’s say you’re like my wife and you’re not into the Nardo Grey hing anymore…well too bad because that’s the only color it comes in for this year

3:25 - No TVD

On the “base” RCF you get the torsen LSD you get here BUT you can get the torque vectoring diff that can send 100% of the power to one side

3:44 - The Trans

And then my least favorite thing about the car…the transmission

-

4:34 - The engine

How could we not start with the engine. I LOVE the Lexus 5.0 n/a V8

It’s not the most powerful thing in the world, but it’s stout, reliable, and sigs one of the best songs out there
This Track Edition also gets a titanium exhaust that enhances the resonance
But what you’re getting is the OPPOSITE of what the new C63 will be
This is simple
No turbos, no hybrids, no zappyness - just big throaty V8
472 hp and 395 lbft
Just listen to it and tell me you don’t prefer this to the turbo 2.0 in the C43 which will also be in the 63….

5:20 - The weight saving

The big thing for the track edition is losing weight - they didn’t throw turbos at the motor, they didn’t even retuned the dampers BUT they did shave 120 lbs off the car…and that’s done in a number of ways

6:39 - The drive

10:06 - The ride

This is the best riding car of the rivals, even in hardcore track edition

It has adaptive dampers and they don’t touch the damper tuning for the track edition…which is nice when you’re on the road because it’s very comfortable and certainly dailyable…even if you have sciatica

10:52 - Looks epic

All the cabron everywhere
The bulging vented hood
The aggressive splitter
The wheels look VERY track spec
Especially with the red carbon ceramics peeking out
The rear hips are long and sharply sculpted
And then there’s the most aggressive wing ever
I stll cant get ove the R in the carbon fiber
And of course the signature stacked exhaust enshrouded in..you guessed it..more carbon

11:33 - The blue

It’s on the engine cover in the logo
It’s on the manifold itself in a GORGEOUS color/finish
It’s on the front fender badge
It’s on the rear trunk badge
And this is why I’m ok with the interior being so blue..it’s the color of the car
In previous years the carbon weave was inlay with red - and that’s just so cliche to me so I like it more as a blue
Plus there’s blue alcantara on the shifter, over the cluster, and blue leather in the seats, and even your shift paddles have blue for the plus and minus

12:33 - The interior

EXCEPT for the new touchscreen which is an awesome update
Though not perfect as it still doesn’t support wireless ACP
But the build is great
The materials are wild with the blue carbon and alcantara
The seats are really comfy and look the business
The little harness holes are filled in with the same pattern as the grille
You’ve got the Mark Levinson sound system
Weirdly no HUD
And like I mentioned before, your rear seats aren’t useable

13:21 - The perks

There’s a really cool perk that comes with the car when you buy an RCF Track edition

When you buy one of these cars, Lexus will throw in a free experience with their performance driving school

Love this car and spec. This is the fastest RCF made to date. This car grows on you it makes you appreciate it as you take it in and experience it. I was in the market for many track cars. This was the most fun i have had in terms of just the mechanical sounds and experience so much so I end up taking it home.

You are not wrong about the RCF, necessarily. The RCF is not designed to be the absolute fastest car, as it’s not really to be compared to the M class and others. It’s kind of its own class. A nearly bulletproof Toyota reliability, that can run with the rest of the pack, and only falls at the absolute edge of performance, where if we are honest, will almost never be used. It is an amazingly reliable, very high performance, luxurious Lexus. One that you can easily go 100, 000 miles without any major problems. It’s tame when you want it, but an absolute beast when you push the right buttons. That being said, the technology available to the driver via the center screen could be improved. Ive owned mine for two years, have over 50K on the clock, and is an absolute joy. Zero squeaks, zero mechanical drama, quiet as a whisper when you drive like a human. And on the freeway at 70 MPH you’ll see 30 mpg. (If you can keep your foot off the skinny pedal) Personally, id leave the “track addition” behind. 120 pounds of weight savings and a spoiler for a 30, 000 dollar upgrade? Please…..
