Bizarre Coin Spill Cache Found Metal Detecting

Hard to explain. It was a very odd start to the new year. We started off shark teeth hunting, then looking for old bottles, after finding some weird depressions in the woods we decided to try metal detecting. What started as a cool little coin spill turned into something greater. Then Wow!
But what happened here? Please comment with your guess...

I've been a fan of the Hoover Boys for a while now and seen hundreds of episodes but somehow just saw this one for the first time. It instantly became one of my all time favorite episodes! My theory is it is a cache of items a kid had stolen and hidden. It may have been scattered when the house that occupied the spot was torn down. Great finds and still my favorite channel. When I go visit family in Maryland, I would love to meet you guys!!

I watch you guys religiously and I don’t comment much but this week I felt like I needed to. Y’all are an absolute pleasure!! The actual friendship thank Love that you have for each other is fantastic and contagious and I would watch it even if there was no metal detecting but there is and that makes it so much better. I cane to the US 24 yrs ago and seeing the group together makes me realize how much I miss my friends, the real, true friends. Thank you for yet another fantastic episode. Thanks boys. In 1965 I was six years old. I lived in Odenton, Maryland. On my way home from school one day. I stopped by a lttle creek. For some reason I dug around looking for something. Didn't know why. In the mud of the creek bed my hand came upon something hard and cold. I pulled it out and wiped it off. I had found an 1831 large cent! That started my coin collection. But two years ago, while I was on the Ubahn (underground subway) here in Vienna. Someone stole it. And that really sucks! (When I get back to the states I'm going to have to buy a metal detector.) But you guys rock. Keep digging around.
