Lois and Brian must still have their strength and speed powers from the first "viewer mail" episode, as Lois was able to throw a ball from Rhode Island all the way to Texas, and Brian was still able to retrieve it quickly.

As far as Hank overhearing the conversation, probably just _Family Guy_ logic. XD
