Old family guy sounds so… mellow? Like, modern family guy has a very snappy, one-joke-after-another style of humor, while the older episodes give you some time to breathe. I like it

This is what I like about old FG - it was still funny, but also kind of wholesome. The characters were ultimately good people with good intentions, and they acted like a relatively normal family (and actually loved each other). Most of the characters now are just psycho, and have fallen victim to the scourge of Flanderisation .
